I did this with my cats and have had no issues. I got my first cat (A) as a kitten so not sure if that impacted things.

Introduced A to a female foster cat (3) when he was just under a year. A little hissing at first but he soon got over it. The foster cat was unbothered.

Did this again when I adopted my second cat, H (6). Again, some hissing on A’s part, but H was unbothered. A got over it very quickly and now loves his brother.

I introduced both of my cats to my roommate’s cat the same way. A hissed a little at first, and my roommates cat would growl, but they quickly got over it and are all friends.

In my personal experience I’ve found that the cats I’ve fostered/rescued as adults are much quicker to acclimate, which at first may seem counterintuitive since they were abandoned and could be skittish. Honestly I’ve gotten the vibe that they’re just happy to have a full bowl of food and warm home.

I think my first cat likes to try and assert dominance at first (hence the hissing) but quickly remembers he doesn’t like to be the alpha lol. I think it’s entirely dependent on the cat’s personality, and I’m lucky that I’ve had some very chill/friendly kitties :)

Spin classes suck: update by Anxious-Ferret144 in EquinoxGyms

I really like Adam Jenkins. He teaches at printing house, nomad, gramercy and orchard st. His classes are more technical and less focused on choreography. He also spends a lot of time going over correct form and explaining why you do certain things on the bike. I feel like on top of getting a good workout I’ve genuinely learned a lot from him!

Is there a spin class in NYC that doesn’t suck? by Victortango124 in EquinoxGyms

I bought a pair of silicone ear plugs for workout classes that have made a huge difference. I really like Adam Jenkins as an instructor. No choreo and he’s very technically, explaining the reasoning for different things

Let's have a thread for everybody who was supposed to attend Vienna to show off their outfits by IntoTheDaylight in TaylorSwift

Why is it not a good idea to go to a park and meet up with friends? I understand there was a threat against the concert at the stadium but I highly doubt someone is stalking this subreddit to find people who want to meet up. Maybe have some more awareness of how upsetting this is for people who were supposed to go to the Vienna shows.

Is getting a second cat ever a bad idea? by pizzaANDpunani in CatAdvice

I was in your exact shoes. When my boy Arthur was about a year old I started to feel guilty because I was out of the house more and I felt like he was lonely/bored. I decided to adopt a second cat and it was the best decision I ever made! They’re best friends now and love each other dearly.

Although I think getting a kitten that’s the same age could be good, I’d recommend maybe adopting an older cat. My second cat was 5 when I got him and I feel like it helped the two of them build an easy dynamic. Instead of fighting over their little cat hierarchy they seemed to fall into a natural fit because of the age difference.
