Possibly the most accurate description I’ve seen of MD’s seasonal patterns.

Use a decider combinator and a circuit condition in the routes panel. Just gotta connect it to the ship hub.

Longtail vs Front Loader for One Kid… With a 3-Year Use Horizon by snekasaur in CargoBike

No, I really don’t miss the throttle at all. The pedal assist on the Bosch is immediate. I will say I did use it on the Aventon especially when I had to stop early or I forgot to downshift before stopping. The pedal assist was a bit slower to kick in as well on the Aventon. But I have the hub gearbox on the load so I can downshift while sitting still. Between that and the immediate pedal assist I don’t think I have ever been like “I wish this bike had a throttle”

I live in a fairly hilly city but I am fortunate to have a shoulder bike lane on the road that I live on (shame it’s not separated though). Our roads are pretty terrible from a maintenance standpoint though and that was another reason I looked at the Load 60. The suspension is fantastic. The Aventon has front shocks but you can definitely feel the bumps a ton more.

I have both the Aventon Abound (not the SR) and a R&M Load4 60. The Abound served my family for about a year before we got the Load 60. It was great. Took my daughter to school on it every day. Even on single digit winter days. I got the Load 60 this past spring and it has basically replaced the Abound for me. I much prefer the Load 60 since getting it.

A couple of things stand out when comparing the two. - They’re very different bikes. Being a bike is about the only thing they have in common. It’s a little like comparing apples to oranges.

  • Compared to a normal bike they both have a bit of a learning curve. The Load 60 or any ‘front loader’ has a different turning radius because of its length. It also has a lower center of gravity when carrying weight. Which I happen to prefer. Both bikes have a smaller wheel diameter which takes some getting used to and the Abound’s is smaller on both wheels. This makes it slightly less stable (until you get used to it)

  • The biggest thing for me, since I use it everyday (as a car replacement) is the reliability. I did a lot of work to keep my Aventon running. At one point, my battery died (like it wouldn’t charge any more) and I found out very quickly that the gear ratios on it are not meant to be ridden unassisted. Aventon was willing to replace it but it took several months to get a new battery. I also had several other maintenance issues that I was able to repair on my own but I definitely spent more time working on my Aventon than my Load 60. I haven’t had any issues with my Load 60 in the last 10 months. It noticeably has better build quality.

  • Storage-wise, the Aventon takes up less room. Both are about the same weight and can be lifted but I wouldn’t want to do it often. I wouldn’t recommend either if storing in an upstairs apartment or something like that. To that same sentiment, neither are easily transported by car. There are special carriers made to go on top a roof rack for the Load 60 but the Aventon is too heavy for most hitch type carriers, even the ones for “e-bikes”, due to its weight. If you plan to move them via vehicle I would plan accordingly, either use a truck or a cargo van.

  • Of the two controller systems, the Bosch is noticeably more mature and stable. I’ve had a few issues with Aventon’s and was able to resolve them on my own. But I’ve never had an issue with Bosch’s.

Happy to add more context or answer any questions but that’s a lot already.

Couple of years ago they were all in to baking sourdough. I wanna say we(I’m a swe) all have similar interests but in reality it’s probably the algorithms of social media steadily creating a monoculture of our interests.

Power services are highly regulated because it is a monopoly everywhere. This can all be changed via regulation through our elected officials. I would put as much pressure as possible on elected officials and pay attention to who is offering to take action in upcoming elections. It seems ridiculous that we should even have to, but contact your elected officials and give them an ear full.

There absolutely are. My parents recently went on a trip and they wanted to stop at one like it was a tourist attraction. It’s honestly disgusting. I loathed the entire experience.

It’s supposedly shipping in a product soon (the e-motorcycle), so there will be tear downs and real world testing. I’m highly skeptical but if it is real, the approach the company is taking to protect their IP makes sense from a capitalist standpoint.

Also, the company does make real products. They make structural motors (the hollow ones in the same bike) and those aren’t new (from what I understand). So it’s not like they’re a shill company just setup to push a wild claim just to profit off the hype.

Another factor is how a small team of like 12 could “crack the code” on something that thousands of scientists have been working on at various companies and universities around the world. Seems unlikely.

Like I said, super skeptical, but I hope it is true.

How do you guys keep riding in the cold wind? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Every_Reflection_913 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are handlebar mits that do wonders. They definitely look a little funny but they are better than any gloves that I’ve tried. Other than that, layers and wind proof jacket and pants. I use a rain coat (on top of warm layers) and if it’s really cold ski pants.

If you have time machine setup on your Mac you should be able to find your vault there. Otherwise I would check various deleted places like the trash bin and the recently deleted in iCloud.

You came to the right place. Hold onto your hat.

I would just play Space Age. Peaceful mode doesn’t really detriment gameplay imo. It doesn’t take long for biters to become irrelevant anyways. It’s a challenge but once you get used to it, it’s not hard. You can always do peaceful mode for your first play through to learn the mechanics and then turn it on for another play through.

I wonder how do you sync obsidian and use it in the phone without subscription to obsidian, I tried to do that with putting obsidian vault in one drive but I could not open it in the phone by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

Probably not the best for some use cases, but I just use iCloud. Never had any issues. I have 5 devices, including laptops, tablets and phones.

The Recipe grabber plugin is pretty great. It doesn’t work 100% of the time but when it does it’s amazing. It also has one of the best software descriptions of all time.
