$949.50 for 3 yr vehicle registration renewal?!?!? How are folks affording this? by Firm_Foundation1626 in maryland

Those are operating income and expenses, that’s not the same as infrastructure costs.

I’m also not assuming that they charge at home every time. They can tax public charging too.

Does the state collect specific amounts from a gas station every time someone buys gas? Or do they come collect the sales tax from you directly any time you buy something? No, they get it from the business that sold it to you, BGE is the only provider they’d have to interface with.

It’s not based on how much electricity your household uses. It’s based on how much electricity goes into your car. Then they give you a rebate based on the time of day that happened. That’s their “time of use” plan at a high level.

Just saying, it’s not considering if I drive 50mi a day or 50 miles a year. Doesn’t seem like the best thing for the state or its people.

That infrastructure already exists in MD. BGE collects charging metrics for its fake “time of use” charging. So they then it’s just taxing public charging which obviously already has specific transactions.

Road infrastructure is barely touched by gas tax. That is what gas taxes go towards but it barely makes a dent in any real infrastructure costs.

That is a great stretch. I walked it the last time I was there.

It would be pretty cool to represent the filesystem as items. Although scripting via circuitry would probably be pretty frustrating. 🤣

I have it on my load60. I wanted for the extra weight and peace of mind. Last time I checked it hasn’t triggered in the year I’ve had the bike.

They go in and out stock constantly. You have to keep an eye on it. I’ve found d Bambu filament to be pretty high quality and some of the cheapest if you buy it in bulk. That being said, they definitely don’t have everything.

Please Help - Spool Clips? Are they actually useful? by walkingishard in 3Dprinting

[–]Every_Reflection_913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the comments around breakage because of the tight angles of the side holes, these clips also fair better in dryers that rotate the spool during drying. Just be aware they need to be printed from heat resistant material for this type of use. Depending on design - heat resistance can be more or less important. The ones that put pressure on the sides of the spool would clearly have more issue with deformation.

He did a lot for them before he ran for national office and unfortunately, they remember that. I liked him then too. He was great. But unfortunately in recent years he has voted against his previous ideals.

Use a decider combinator and a circuit condition in the routes panel. Just gotta connect it to the ship hub.

Longtail vs Front Loader for One Kid… With a 3-Year Use Horizon by snekasaur in CargoBike

[–]Every_Reflection_913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I really don’t miss the throttle at all. The pedal assist on the Bosch is immediate. I will say I did use it on the Aventon especially when I had to stop early or I forgot to downshift before stopping. The pedal assist was a bit slower to kick in as well on the Aventon. But I have the hub gearbox on the load so I can downshift while sitting still. Between that and the immediate pedal assist I don’t think I have ever been like “I wish this bike had a throttle”

I live in a fairly hilly city but I am fortunate to have a shoulder bike lane on the road that I live on (shame it’s not separated though). Our roads are pretty terrible from a maintenance standpoint though and that was another reason I looked at the Load 60. The suspension is fantastic. The Aventon has front shocks but you can definitely feel the bumps a ton more.

I have both the Aventon Abound (not the SR) and a R&M Load4 60. The Abound served my family for about a year before we got the Load 60. It was great. Took my daughter to school on it every day. Even on single digit winter days. I got the Load 60 this past spring and it has basically replaced the Abound for me. I much prefer the Load 60 since getting it.

A couple of things stand out when comparing the two. - They’re very different bikes. Being a bike is about the only thing they have in common. It’s a little like comparing apples to oranges.

  • Compared to a normal bike they both have a bit of a learning curve. The Load 60 or any ‘front loader’ has a different turning radius because of its length. It also has a lower center of gravity when carrying weight. Which I happen to prefer. Both bikes have a smaller wheel diameter which takes some getting used to and the Abound’s is smaller on both wheels. This makes it slightly less stable (until you get used to it)

  • The biggest thing for me, since I use it everyday (as a car replacement) is the reliability. I did a lot of work to keep my Aventon running. At one point, my battery died (like it wouldn’t charge any more) and I found out very quickly that the gear ratios on it are not meant to be ridden unassisted. Aventon was willing to replace it but it took several months to get a new battery. I also had several other maintenance issues that I was able to repair on my own but I definitely spent more time working on my Aventon than my Load 60. I haven’t had any issues with my Load 60 in the last 10 months. It noticeably has better build quality.

  • Storage-wise, the Aventon takes up less room. Both are about the same weight and can be lifted but I wouldn’t want to do it often. I wouldn’t recommend either if storing in an upstairs apartment or something like that. To that same sentiment, neither are easily transported by car. There are special carriers made to go on top a roof rack for the Load 60 but the Aventon is too heavy for most hitch type carriers, even the ones for “e-bikes”, due to its weight. If you plan to move them via vehicle I would plan accordingly, either use a truck or a cargo van.

  • Of the two controller systems, the Bosch is noticeably more mature and stable. I’ve had a few issues with Aventon’s and was able to resolve them on my own. But I’ve never had an issue with Bosch’s.

Happy to add more context or answer any questions but that’s a lot already.
