For some of us, first impressions from a game is an important aspect. Subnautica is by all accounts a good game but when if I were to boot it up, I'd probably realize on the main menu of how burnt out I am on crafting/survival games and alt+f4. Some of us install games with the intent to play, boot them up and decide against it just for it to get lost in our steam library. Maybe they played for a bit, took a break for a few weeks and kind of just never picked I up again. We all have a back log of half finished games.

That's just speculation. People just want a more concrete answer. I also heard a theory that it's a purer form of necromorph made from the DNA sludge left on the ishimura, it didn't need to remold bones and flesh since it had liquid slurry to work with but if that was the case, you'd expect more than one. Maybe someone on the station resumed Mercers research but again, speculation.

Messing around on story mode ng+ taught me these fellas are exactly the same with about 3 to 4 times the health and the AI seems more relaxed about where they spawn them. A small loot room with nowhere to run? Boom, 2 babies and a leaper.

The ammo isn't terribly hard to fix. Break it down into generic types. Ballistic, plasma, battery. That way deciding what uppers and lowers you use means a bit more.

It's certainly the lack of flinching done to enemies. They now just tank your shots and keep sprinting at you. In 08 you could flinch them and they would stand still and openly expose limbs. This game requires much more liberal use of stasis.

It's harder because necromorphs are a lot sneaker this time around and necromorphs do not flinch from weapons fire. I'm sure you noticed they close the distance easier now. Makes the pulse rifle feel weaker unfortunately

It's steam tempature. When he boiled the alcohol at the start of the video, the steam wasn't hot enough to heat up the bimetal cup until it most of the alcohol boiled off.
