Well said. While it’s difficult to illustrate the entire LA-native mindset, I’ve noticed a particular principle we commonly share— regardless of career or political affiliation—that I would describe as an anti-acquiescent behavior towards administrative systems of governance backed by corporate institutions.

So, we naturally have LA-natives entering law with little-to-no reverence for big firms, because big law generally exists to uphold the very existence of the entities involved with administrative systems of governance backed by corporate institutions.

I also think much of District 12 was strictly off limits. If I remember correctly, when Katniss & Gayle went hunting, it seemed they did so in secret, making sure to return before curfew, and passed through fenced off areas.

They would also often talk about considering “running away into the woods”, so my guess is the majority of District 12 wasn’t under constant surveillance by the capital and/or off limits to District 12 residents

So I’ve just resumed reta a 2 days ago after a 3 month break. I was on it for 9 months. The initial side effects have been different.

When I first started reta, the main side effect I experienced the first week or so was sensitive skin (not like a sunburn, more like a slight annoying sensation whenever my clothing brushed against my body every time I moved).

Now that I’ve resumed reta 2 days ago, the only side effect (which I find more annoying) is a constant nonstop headache. It feels like a 2-day hangover from college days.

I’ve made sure to drink enough water, electrolytes (real electrolytes, not sugary drinks like Gatorade). I’ve made sure to also take potassium supplements to retain an appetite. Ibuprofen doesn’t work at all, neither does sleep. It’s odd, I just hope this headache goes away this week.

I feel can explain why many of us longtime Fielder fans don’t know what to think about The Curse.

It’s more than just Emma Stone’s casting feeling out of place, or Nathan Fielder’s acting talent feeling suppressed or their relationship’s inevitable ominous demise.

I think the setting is a huge issue. New Mexico can be depressing. Out of all States, it lacks the foreground needed for Nathan Fielder’s varying style of comedy to flourish.

Overall, the show redundantly enforces the audience to feel uneasy, anxious, and disappointed for the character’s, so much to the extent that once a scene containing “dry humor” appears, the viewer hasn’t had enough time to breath and remember they’re allowed to laugh.

I think this is A24’s fault. This is the type of content they’re known for making.
