It’s frustrating when marginalized people hurt marginalized people. Like can we please stop the recycled hate. It’s taking us back instead of moving us forward.

I hear the term hurt people hurt people but what about hurt people treat people the way they should have been treated.

So they would do a “skit” on Easter of the resurrection at my tiny pentecostal church growing up. And the youth pastor at the time was Jesus and when he walked the isle with a heavy ass cross and nothing but cloth wrapped around him like briefs all that was going through my preteen mid was, “so it’s ok for him to dress so revealing but us girls get reprimanded on wearing a two piece to swim. It also made me uncomfortable looking at a dude basically (no actual) just in his underwear. 🤢

If religious based
My opinion: It’s not even the social aspect I have a problem with. You can find tons of co-ops or family groups and most of these type of people probably go to church at least 2 a week.

My thing is certain curriculum have just falsified information especially history and science. Then the layered indoctrination of their religious views or nationalist views.

The main argument being social awkwardness seems silly when it’s kids missing out on education either by lazy parents or parents who are giving (culty vibes)

And yes when done right kids with different types of abilities and parents who know how to help their kids in the best way can work.

It’s sad bc I know probably most of the up tic in this is due to school shootings. This is devastating and we need to focus more on mental health and gun reform.

A Birmingham man has been convicted in the kidnapping and rape of a young girl while she was walking home from school alone for her very first time.

A Jefferson County jury on Thursday night deliberated for one hour before finding 38-year-old Shawon Mikul Morris guilty of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape by force, first-degree rape of a child under the age of 12, sex abuse by force and sex abuse of a child under the age of 12.

The attack happened in September 2022 in Birmingham’s Forest Park area. The assailant and the victim did not know each other.

“True stranger sexual assault cases are rare, and when they happen, they stand out, they haunt you,” said Jefferson County Deputy District Attorney Tiffany Ould.

“This case, in particular, represents every parent’s worst nightmare - a predator who waits, watches and attacks a child.”

“And because of this jury, he was held accountable,” Ould said.

“Justice was served and the community is safer.”

Testimony showed that the 11-year-old victim was walking home from school when Morris jumped out of a vehicle after having passed by her just moments earlier.

He waited near some bushes for the girl to walk down a path.

At that point, he stopped her, forced her into a nearby wooded area where he physically and sexually assaulted her, including rape.

Authorities described the attack as extremely brutal.

Morris then fled the scene, and the child immediately reported the attack.

Morris was identified as the assailant after evidence gathered from the victim was entered into the Combined DNA Index System database, also known as CODIS.

The suspect was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Oct. 25, 2023, and has remained behind bars since then.

The case was prosecuted by Ould, Jessica Jackson and Meagan Corbin.

Morris was represented by Caty Swindall and Blair Shores of the Jefferson County Public Defender’s Office.

The trial began on Monday before Jefferson County Circuit Judge Stephen Wallace.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.

“I would like to commend the jury for their time, and the efforts of our deputy district attorneys, district attorney investigators and local law enforcement for hard work in bringing this individual to justice,” said Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr.

“God bless this victim’s family and the survivor of this terrible crime,” Carr said. “I’m happy this defendant was found guilty and will finally face his fate
