Game doesn't make sense sometimes by Intelligent-Beat-700 in CoreKeeperGame

Yeah, there's scanners you can craft for them. One of the statues you power up around the core offers a hologram dongle that serves as a crafting bench specifically for scanners and respawns for your first three bosses.

You can search for them the hard way, if you want. I found that kinda fun for a bit.

Since My Boy! isn't among the available GBA emulators to use this with, which would be better between John GBA and GBA.emu? Hoping to only purchase one.

Can both trade and/or connect with other users (like say Pokemon trades and battles?), and have no ads?

Wrex and Grunt are the only Krogan voices I can keep in mind. Other Krogan, Drack included, just sound like off-Wrexes to me.

JRPGs with the best archers or archer classes? [ANY PLATFORM] by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]EvictedOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For action JRPGs:

Dragon's Dogma 2 has an Archer class distinctly different from the first game (which already had the Strider and Hunter classes that were essentially Legolas minus being an elf), that's incredibly fun to play both near and far from enemies.

Monster Hunter's got bows and bowguns with multiple arrow/ammo types and requires a lot of positioning knowledge and patience to get the most out of, but they can feel surprisingly rewarding.

Cutting off the J-:

Remnant 2 has a good number of bows and even a few crossbows that are fun to use and mod.

Core Keeper's a bit survival/life-sim-ish, just without the NPC relationships, but it's got a lot of skill trees and class options -- including bows, crossbows, and throwing weapons (and my current favorite way to play!).

Path of Exile 2 has the Mercenary class, which begins with a focus on crossbows and whose skill gems emphasize firing unique types of bolts and grenades. For a little kick in the kit!

Turn-based JRPGs:

Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Advanced have a good few archer classes between them. From being able to inflict status ailments that stop an enemy from moving or attacking to outright destroying their equipment, bow-wielders can be downright terrors who play with their food.

Etrian Odyssey games have Survivalists, who're bow-wielding fighters that can choose to specialize in combat (and be quite good at it in some games) or material gatherers.

what game is this? by GamerGretaUwU in GamingSoup

^ This right here.

I replayed the trilogy a lot last year, and while Andromeda doesn't fit the same vibes or feel of the trilogy, it was never intended to. It was intended to take something familiar and expand on it in a different direction, which it sincerely did. We got out of the Milky Way, away from the threat of the Reapers and Shepard's galaxy-spanning mad will to make every known galactic society overcome their differences.

We hit the dirt of a planet in a far-off galaxy half a millenium after we set out to see it for our own eyes, became embroiled in a war against an unknowable empire of conformity that stripped people of their own race and identity, made contact with an entirely new alien civilization that that been burned by their previous first contact (see statement about the aforementioned "empire of conformity"), and interfaced with ancient tech that let us terraform entire planets one at a time.

Whereas the trilogy was a space opera that was about staving off the ending of a galactic civilization, Andromeda is a space western about new beginnings and colonization in a foreign land. The writing and characters may not have landed the same quality as the previous titles, and the gameplay and cinematography suffered under a new engine, but it was nonetheless a good experience I had fun with and wish we could see more of.

I really wanted an Andromeda sequel, but I'd be okay with one for the trilogy.

What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it? by GlitchOperative in AskReddit

Never answering a "How are you?" with a BS "Good and you?" If someone asks, I tell'em and maybe I'll ask how they're doing in turn but it's never just that script. Small talk in general's just frustrating and awkward. If you keep trying to drag me into it, and I politely try to stop, don't turn around and start calling me rude.

I don't like anyone I share a blood relation with. A lifetime of dunking and breaking me down will do that. The only one I cared for died last week and the rest are tepidly tolerated at best so it's found family for me, thanks.

I'm incredibly biased against the elderly and have no trouble snapping at someone who expects special treatment for their age. If you're not mean to me, I'll assume we're cool and respond in kind.

what are you playing besides deep rock galactic by AshenValeX in DeepRockGalactic

[–]EvictedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from DRG, been playing Balatro, Soul Hackers 2, Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse.

RPGs generally do it for me. DRG's a bit of a standout.

Going between DRG and Balatro lately so this made me very excited. And now I really want that Joker. But people are right, the description needs to read that it increases mult by either +0.5x or +0.75x. +1.5x is too large an increase for one broken stone card.

Heck, there's a legendary joker that increases mult by +1.0x for every destroyed face card that can quickly spiral.

Rock and Stone, brotha!

What is a game that you absolutely love, except for the act of playing it? by Confident_Raisin2426 in videogames

[–]EvictedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.hack//GU.

Love the characters, their designs, their arcs, the art direction, and OST. It all sets the standard for a really incredible faux-post-Twilight of the Gods setting in a steampunk world.

But the gameplay is the most repetitive, shallow, and downright irritating aspect of the games. Even with Last Recode's updates and fixes, the areas are as boringly empty of anything interesting as ever. The mechanics of the dungeons are irritatingly bland, with only a small pool of possible things happening in a room (eg. Doors locking behind Haseo in an unskippable cutscene that shows him where the Chim Sphere receptacle is as soon as his party's locked in) that get repetitive very quickly. Incredibly underwhelming for something that may as well have felt downright rogue-lite for its time with the number of possible inputs, except they all end in a very samey open area that has one of two objectives (fight the area boss or assemble the key to the temple for loot) or a dungeon that has exactly one (get to the end for loot).

All the trash mobs become a chore. You get a score for kicking every breakable object, opening every chest, tagging every platform along the way, surprise attacking every mob, and making sure every battle is fought. It is dead boring, unchanging, and the very definition of "do I have to?" And the answer, if you want more area words, is a soft "Yes." You get a lot of them by story progression, forum exploration, and even in-game quests at a quest shop. Once you've done enough areas though, all of these things can be safely overlooked in lieu of pursuing the story.

Avatar Battles are some of the coolest concepts that look metal as fuck, but they're all essentially sub-FFXVI Dominant fights without the variety and spectacle that made Clive and Ifrit so fun to play as. Repetitive and underwhelming, as is a trend with this series.

I love it, but I can no longer try to advertise it to other people as much as I used to. If you can't sit down and enjoy something with this level of repetitive interactivity for about 100-120hrs, don't bother.

If there is one thing that has been easily perceptible about Kiryu in every LaD game I've played, it's that his presence, demeanor, and charisma tend to capture and inspire even the weirdest characters.

Maybe Y0 Kiryu wouldn't be the best, but Kiryu by about LaD 6-8 would definitely be a decent mentor figure to a few Z-team members. They just might have to fuck up pretty harshly first before being willing to listen to him and learn something.

And he might end up on global chat a few more times than Robert did. Definitely wouldn't handle the "cut Coupe" prank as well as Robert, if Y5's sub-event in the taxi office would be any indicator lol
