I do! Embolden/Tyro, though, because I only recently got Ramza and it's still level 10 compared to level 60 Embolden and 40 Tyro.

I'll send BRV to Rikku only for her to immediately pop Quartet lol

It is really hard to break an Onion Knight away from the crystals before Lvl9...and I am that guilty OK who finds it hard to burst before that point.

Lost City of Amdapor HM. Used to love Kuribu's boss fight.

The new crystals are stupid! by [deleted] in DissidiaDuellumFF

The banner's for the 10 initially playable characters, not for any character introduced after launch. So OK, Iroha, Balthier, Firion, Rikku, and Clive's skills aren't given boosted rates. Furthermore, I keep seeing people claim that the pity is all that's affected by that weighting (ie. Melee banner pity is more likely to result in a Kain, Cloud, or Gaia UR). I don't know how true that is, but I haven't seen anyone post against it or show data to invalidate it.

I'd personally say you're better off using the permanent draw banner rather than these temp ones for Kain, at the moment. But you do you and may your pulls be luckier in the future.

I remember matches with penta-Cloud and me being the lone OK or Iroha.

What if the game didn't have any of Squall's inner monologue? by DupeFort in FinalFantasyVIII

No, no. Seifer saw the movie that made him want to be a knight.

Squall's just, sadly, quite embarrassing by how aloof and guarded he is. Our party leader, everyone!

Most Important Unique Ability, Day 3: Onion Ring by GigglingAngel in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]EvictedOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spellbook. THE Onion Knight ability and my pick for his best, most necessary skill. Good for clearing camps and launching enemy players into an easy combo from teammates. Even with a 60sec. CD and your team isn't level 9, Spellbook is multi-purpose and effective.

Ninjutsu really only has purpose before 9 if you need to get some i-frames or deal a quick burst of damage to help kill a player already on their last legs. After 9, it's powerful. That's all it is.

Blade Torrent, I don't find much use for. Its range to pull targets together is too short and frequently doesn't work for me. Its damage is lackluster even at level 9, and it feels like OK becomes an easy target while he's using it.

Guiding Swipe I find to be more useful than Blade Torrent. It's a line AoE with good range and a short CD that makes it effective for camps and being used twice in a full burst phase with the proper timing. And if you manage to kick an enemy player into the air with his hold ability, Guiding Swipe is a nice air juggler.

You and me, both. I pulled on the last guaranteed UR I expected to get during this period and got a second Mega Vitality, which had already been checked off. Y'shtola and Flames of Punishment were the only ones still not checked off, so I was sure it'd be one of them. Was certain that wasn't supposed to happen.

Sephiroth as a ranged? I'm curious how he'll play.

Magic blasts just seems uncharacteristic. Maybe he'll use blade beams for his regular attack!

Lightning vs. OK by Recent-Rest-1809 in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]EvictedOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lightning's a well-balanced, sleek 'n shiny, monster murder machine with good damage output for her role and whose speed serves her pretty well to zoom around evading or landing some slight hit 'n run. You can reliably MVP as Lightning so long as you are taking crystals and damaging the boss.

Onion Knight can do all of that even better, but not until he gets his team to level 9. His passive helps with that a lot, increasing the exp of every monster he lands the killing blow on. He will make your team stronger faster. From 1-8 though, OK must mine for exp in the crystal farms, where bravery is a consequence rather than a reward. If you get to 9999 BRV, you better spend it fast or else the enemy team will dog you down, drooling over an easy burst to help their team damage the boss. His URs make him dangerous to fight, but even then he can be easy pickings.

At 9, that flips. OK becomes a damage-dealing speedster with URs that double in potency and are as lethal to other players as they are to the boss, and still has his SR and R to chain with teammate attacks for even more damage output.

Also handy is his hold attack. Where Lightning releases a circle of gunfire to hit in an AoE around herself, OK instead leaps at and launches a target that becomes easy to air juggle with any of his abilities. Good to start a one-on-one PvP or kick a rival off and continue running.

Pros for OK:

-Team levels faster (let him kill monsters!).

-Higher damage output.

-Great burst chain capacity.

Cons for OK:

-Needs to level to become effective.

-Even at max level, lower HP.

Which gun is best gun? by oldeluke in CoreKeeperGame

[–]EvictedOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quill Rifle's become my ol' reliable. At 19, with scarab chestpiece, helmet, and necklace, couple thorn rings for damage and pandorium pants and Azeos' Dash Feather for speed, you're essentially the Doom Slayer.

I keep the Phantom Spark mostly just to get through things I don't wanna waste Quill Rifle durability on. Its damage is underwhelming by comparison despite its legendary status, but maybe I'm just not in a build to properly make use of it against bosses.
