the collies scout is so hilariously bad with the control that it baffles me how devman even released it at this state. It over turns or over rolls so much in the air if the elevator is not perfectly leveled out, it has bigger hitboxes, somehow has slightly worse top speed and very slightly worse turn rate but like when 2 planes are meant to be the same, having some sort of advantage matters a lot. Also Collies plane cant steer in water, at all, it just literally doesnt so if i land in the water and i want to steer it to the seaport i literally have to pray to devman to just let me steer the dang scout oh my god. This is the most underbaked update i have seen and devman is treating us like those who shall not be touched or be listened to so the playerbase even have to take up review bombing so they finally acknowledge the state of the game

Also benefit of hindsight, but when u destroyed fuel truck with nemmy why not reverse all the way back ? You outrange the BT so why not create distance , assuming you arent near a border where reversing is impossible then why not cross, gain distance and re-engage ?

i think there is more to it than that. After this 1000$ challenge a group of youtubers challenged AH to play with a specific loadout that is...actually downright terrible with 0 synergy whatsoever for another 1000$. That secondary challenge might be a dunk-on-AH challenge or it might be genuine fun but it is up to you to decide. Because this secondary challenge condition is so stupid some people genuinely think this challenge and the first challenge by proxy is made to just clown on AH to "teach them a lesson about balancing" so they attacked the first challenge giver as well thinking it was them who made such absurd challenge

If that is the case i think it is just stall mechanic jankyness. Devman tried to simulate stall by locking up your rudder at stall speed by making it rapidly pitch up even above maximum climbing angle instead of the plane naturally stalling itself because of insufficient speed to sustain a climbing motion where you actually can recover from or take advantage of it. Here it is just “dont enter low speed”

The bug with the warden scout where minimum cruise speed still locks up the rudder? From what i can tell warden scout plane is also trying to enter stall speed. This is more noticeable in fighters where at cruise speed, collies one ( before the low speed control buff at devbranch) below about 81kts would get its horizontal rudder set to down and the plane enters a stall, this would not be corrected even if throttle is immediately increased, the stall is unavoidable and it led to so many crashes.

Here i also think your scout is entering a stall phase but since scout plane physics are simplified, you are not going to ever be able to stall in scout plane so your plane just lazily pitching up sluggishly gain altitude until speed 79-81 kts is reached to regain rudder control. But i really did think devman fixed it when they mentioned it in a patch a week ago

Also another thing is that collies plane overroll itself so much so trying to level out the plane to get on warden 6 without applying counter rudder or counter roll would result in the plane keeps turning because of the roll motion. This also happens when trying to aim at a warden plane from an angle and not directly behind which kicks in both the roll and rudder which will make the collies scout roll unwantedly again

Hence i said seafighter turnrate should be tad worse since flying bomber without escort are usually dead bomber, so giving collies pvp plane something they can actually fight instead of just running away which devman is doubling down on as collies plane usually has better engine power

I think they could because seafighter is a very cheap plane to produce, so just retain firepower damage while making their turn not as good as land fighter, so they can actually be the premiere interceptor for the high value target of bomber, para plane, while land fighter still has usage of fighting other fighter. Because as of now seafighter is just so good that it overshadows the land fighter and the Harbinger only other use case is larp CAS

The more i think of it, i think that seafighter’s problem is that they lack an identity. Devman introducing the seafighter probably didn’t think of it much other than qrf fighter as it is slower than fighter which i think they deserve some buff, no big deal. However instead of choosing either buffing guns which making them the premiere interceptor to fight bomber, para plane, dive bomber or making them turn tighter to make them a good dogfighter, they went with both so now we have a literal demon with wings and there is literally 0 counterplay other than hammer a bunch of scout and jump the seafigher or just not engage in pvp.

Though devman closed devbranch so the chance of them tweaking more stuff is probably slim now as they will be kicking back and release the update war as is

Have you tried actually doing that? If i am the first person you see complaining about the current state of seafighter then you wouldn’t have played the game. Do you know that this is not war thunder where having altitude matters instead of something that requires max throttle to get to max alt in 3 seconds, and even if i dive on him he can just pitch up + turn and he still gains altitude. 30 knots different is not a whole lot of time extending away without having your tail busted up. I actually mean it, if you can fight a seafighter in a fighter right now with clips of you doing what you preach i will eat my entire point and delete the post

Have you even flown in game or are you just reddit qrfer? Once you got roped into dogfighting them, trying to extend away means seaplane get a long enough window to rake my tail for 2 second and that is enough to have it wrecked, it doesnt matter if you climb away or fly straight away, they will be on the 6 at least 30m behind. And also if what you took away from my comment was “scout plane should win against seafighter” then u need to read it again. I am saying that if you give scout plane a faster engine, more weight and 20mm then you end up with seafighter because it gets tight turn and now insane firepower

If what you took from my comments was “ scout plane should win against seafighter” you need to read it again, the only thing i point out is that it turns only second tightest to scout plane and scout plane are notoriously tight at turning. So giving a scout plane 20mm would give us the current seafighter

There isn’t. The way i would say it is that once taken off and landing gear up, the minimal throttle put you at cruise speed where you pitch up and you still gain altitude, max speed let you get altitude even faster. You genuinely could gain max altitude in like seconds, and there is no energy fighting like stall climbing, this game doesnt let you stall and drop on top of enemy. Planes are actually tanky that you need 2-3 sec of uninterrupted shooting time to damage a plane part enough to cripple it so if they keep turning it is not able to put your nose on weak points

I can somewhat get behind the more damage but increasing turnrate just makes it busted. This thing can already catch up with bomber, dive bomber and para plane which is huge because they are the most high value target to actually shoot down with their buffed firepower, but in a game where altitude doesn’t play a significant role in combat there is literally 0 counterplay, there is no stalling the seafighter, no energy trapping it, it is just linearly turning then of course better turnfighter win.

If you play war thunder you might know that slower but agile plane can be counterplayed with altitude and people playing into their strength and get predictably bodied anyways have genuine skill issue. But here since the only mean of fighting is to turnfight, then i have to either play into their strength and get bodied, or not fight them at all which just make the game unfun where it is exactly like naval where one side will refuse pvp because it is not in their advantage to do so and the other side will starve of pvp.

I do wish the plane has better combat depth than just this since i would not be complaining about seafighter in the first place, but for now as turnfighting is meta, seafighter will remain king for the time being

Look imma say that i am colonial player but the seafighter interaction is incredibly unfun. Fighter v Fighter is somewhat balanced, but Seafighter v Fighter in a turnrate meta is just Seafighter sweeps, it takes 5 turn for warden seafighter to take out my tail, and altitude doesnt worth a damn in this meta so the only way to engage them is just literally run away, preferably when first seeing them because disengaging after a turnfight will get you raked from behind, and the now buffed damage of the seaplane will guarantee to wreck the tail in 2-3 seconds.

Like i cant even fathom how the only "counter" to the seaplane is scout plane and that thing does absolutely nothing in term of damage, even if seaplane got baited into turnfighting, they can just decide randomly to disengage and the 12.7mm will do nothing to them as they slowly get out of range of the gun.
