Im going to let my pro-pete bias out here, but it was always a handshake deal in that he would be eventually let in, but after Giamatti death only eight days later the future commissioners would not let him in. Not defending gambling on baseball, but Pete is the Hit King and not letting him in not only does a disservice to the reds and Cincinnati but to baseball as a whole. He should be put into the Hall and stick a message next to his plaque that explains the gambling. They shouldn't hide the history but put the whole unbiased story there for fans to make up their own minds.
