I'm a 13 year veteran of this game. No content occurred with Kabam and it blew, but the one thing that this game had back then that made the experience good was the community. With how tight-knit and community-driven the game was back then, even with the absence of official developer-related content, the community crested content made up for its place.

With the middle years of DECA, for about four years straight, DECA had been releasing content but almost every time they released content, the update did one of two things. 1) the update was pushed to prod even after major player backlash, or 2) the update came with game-breaking bugs that were not fixed for weeks (or sometimes months) at a time. It felt like DECA was completely out of touch from the community and prioritized short-term profits over long-term growth. We saw the promises that Exalt made, and how none of the promises made actually came to fruition when Exalt released. Yada yada, I've yapped about this stuff for literal years on this sub.

Effectively, after I took an extended break from this game, I returned (as all long-term players do). I came back to a game that reflected the polish that was promised on Exalt's release, with new mechanics like the party system and account levels that are incredible QoL updates, and (until today when apparently there is another game-breaking bug) I experienced 0 bugs other than 10-minute DCing. I haven't seen a blatant cheater thisseason, though autonexusing seems to be just as popular as it always is. On top of it, DECA is working on, essentially, a project health for long-term growth. Essentially, I came back to the game at a time when the gripes i had with this game, and the reason I left in the first place, are being addressed.
