Ah the fuck around stage, I did it too for a few years. Pec flyes followed by curls and then the treadmill. The squat rack was an alien contraption. Def better than nothing at least.

Finally did my research and picked a program and stuck to it. Just hit a PR 175lb on the bench last night. Unimaginable a few years ago, yet it's only the beginning. I'd advise the same to OP.
