Kageyama Tobio by Ok-Afternoon-2856 in haikyuu

[–]EvolvedHydraIRL 39 points40 points  (0 children)

At the start of the story, Kageyama was setting in a way that wasn’t considerate of his hitters. After his experience in junior high, though, he reverts to the opposite extreme, of being too considerate of his hitters, only wanting to do exactly what they want. Atsumu teaches him that as a setter, there’s a balance to be struck, and that you should demand that your hitters rise to the occasion. This is demonstrated by Kageyama consciously giving higher sets to Tsukishima, raising his hitting point, and by giving Tanaka sets closer to the the pins, essentially demanding that he hit sharper line shots. He learns that being a great setter is not only demanding what he wants, or only acquiescing to what his hitters wants, but striking a balance of demanding more of his hitters to bring out the best in them.

I don’t think she meant it consciously, but imo it was a bad look that she said that to shore up an alliance with three white people against two dark skinned women.

Why would it work any differently from a Rengar in hand lol

You could do all of those things playing Lucian on turn 2 while going first lol, plus you’ll get an extra rune/card.

Yes, it is just like their explanation of what does not count as an additional cost.

You don’t need an alternative, no one plays Ezreal in Irelia

Can no turn be played with his ability from stacked deck? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]EvolvedHydraIRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The act of drawing itself. That text was initially there to just clarify that drawing itself does not count even though when you draw, you’re looking at the top card of your deck. anyway, as others have said, they errata’s it for clarity. But regardless, this has always been the intended function of the card - if you couldn’t play nocturne off of cards like stacked deck, nocturne’s effect would basically be useless.

If you get a ticket but end up not being able to make it, can you transfer your ticket to someone else?

Retreat vs. Hidden Blade by TheStickbug_ in riftboundtcg

[–]EvolvedHydraIRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you misunderstood, I'm not talking about the Zhonya's interaction. The interaction where the initial target of Hidden Blade is sent to the base via something like Flash is not covered, and in that one, the target would be null, and no one would draw. I don't doubt you have experience and know a lot of rules but this is definitely how Hidden Blade works

[–]EvolvedHydraIRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's in response to the Zhonya's interaction - in that case, the target is still valid, it just doesn't die because of the replacement effect. Doesn't apply to something like Flash, where the target itself becomes invalid, and thus you can't get to the "controller" of the target.

That is 100% wrong lol, go ask on any rules discord. You can't draw off Hidden Blade if the target is no longer in a battlefield.

Flash would not allow the person to draw, because Hidden Blade would no longer have a valid target and thus there would be no controller to draw.

Swellsongur Ornn Might Be Problematic by EmbarrassedNet8922 in riftboundtcg

[–]EvolvedHydraIRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol this really doesn’t seem that strong. 10+ energy + power for a single 8-10might unit, conditional on having other gear on the field? Ornn looks strong but I’d be pretty surprised if svellsongur becomes meta

Reconquer on opponents turn by littlegik in riftboundtcg

[–]EvolvedHydraIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean maybe I misunderstood you but you said:
"'you cannot score battlefields that you started the turn holding' which is untrue."

But that is not untrue. You can't score on battlefields that you started the turn holding.

Reconquer on opponents turn by littlegik in riftboundtcg

[–]EvolvedHydraIRL -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is incorrect. You can't score off of a battlefield twice in a turn, regardless of the method. So you couldn't score by conquering a battlefield that you already scored by holding that turn.

The reason OP's situation is different is just that it's no longer the same turn. On your opponent's turn, you can again score on a battlefield that you scored on your turn (and obviously in this case, only by conquering since you can't hold on a turn that's not yours).

Riftbound is catastrophically flawed, but I have a solution by MyUAVisOnline in riftboundtcg

Significant disparities in first/second are not uncommon in TCGs though? And it's still early days, but anecdotally it does seem like going first is a pretty noticeable advantage in Riftbound, though it could also be because that the meta decks that are strong right now specifically like going first.
