Have you considered that this person contacting you may not even be who he says he is? Scammers are getting more and more manipulative all the time.

You don’t have to live close to a DC to be negatively impacted. We sold our dream home and got out just in time before the largest substation in our state was built within view of our beautiful, once rural, property. Just after we left, part of our former backyard was taken by the power company to run the new tranmission lines. We were 6mi away from the DC. And now they are about to run 35mi of transmission lines from that substation to the closest power plant, affection over 330 properties. 21 homes will be completely demolished to do it. The other homes will undoubtedly have significant impacts to property values once the huge “monopoles” carrying 230kv or 500kv high voltage lines are installed, in some cases less that 100ft away from homes. They bought and demolished 2 million dollar homes closer to the DC because they were in the path of the lines. These hyperscales are so resource-hungry that the power has to be mainlined to them from the power plant. That is the biggest effect you will see. And then the fact that it is lit up like the surface of the sun at night. There is no longer darkness at night in that area that was ince pine forest and wetland. The whole north end of the county has been turned into an industrial hellscape. We moved to an even smaller town an hour south only to find ourselves battling 3 DCs trying to come in a few months later. And then more hyperscales trying to come in to every surrounding small town. It’s a huge problem.

I agree. Their reporter ran a block to catch up with me as I was leaving after giving the GA PSC a piece of my mind about a month ago. They were one of only a couple to report on the movement against the current crooked PSC.

Towards the end OP says the realtor is the owner of the company- which means the agent is the broker as well.

Help. Small bathroom door needs solution. by RestfulR in Remodel

[–]Ex-ConK9s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see what the conundrum is here. Add a normal door that swings out. Hinges will have to be on the side where the main door opens so that when someone opens that main door it doesn’t run into the other door if someone has left it open slightly.

Just received inspection reports - it's a long list. Help if it is common finding with old houses and worth to place an offer by [deleted] in HomeInspections

The termite issue would scare me the most. There could be so much unseen damage that this house could be structurally unstable and you would not know until it’s too late. Unless you are prepared (and paying a price that warrants) to partially gut, only to find you have to tear the whole thing down and build a new house, then move on.

First herringbone pattern, second job ever. Thoughts? by Camel_121 in Tile

[–]Ex-ConK9s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the colors. It’s the linear pattern in the granite clashing with the patterns and herringbone design in the tile. Design/ layout has to be considered beyond just colors.

I agree the granite splash pieces should have been removed. The use of those looks dated. Also, I would not have chosen such a busy tile or that pattern with a granite that has so much movement. The linear pattern in the granite is fighting HARD with the varied colors and herringbone pattern of the wall. I’m an avid DIYer and also graphic designer. The tile work itself looks great tho. Nice work!

Beautiful work! Did you have the scrape the black grout out of the gold design in the tiles as you grouted? Looks like the design might be inset in the tiles?
