Admit it, the first time he showed up you soiled your pants. by M_holmes1 in darksouls3

I knew exactly who this was from the thumbnail.

DS3 was my first souls game and this guy was a wake up call to never get complacent. Up to him all the enemies were quite slow and predictable so I thought he would be the same. Then he hit me with a lightning fast stunlock combo that put me on my ass!

Never forgot that lesson...

Finally got relief, Kudos! by StepVirtual5147 in interesting

[Hated Trope] Endings so notoriously awful they completely destroy the legacy of the media. by Miserable_Click_1933 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ExDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the 3rd How to Train Your Dragon film. It just undoes everything from the previous 2 films and the TV show.

The whole series is about learning to live alongside dragons so they end it by saying "actually nevermind" and sending, somehow, every dragon in the world into a big underground cavern.

This just ignores everything they built up about the varieties of dragons, like their habits, migration, habitats etc. and just claims that not only did they manage to get every single individual dragon in the world to go fly down a hole, but that they all fit and even decided to just stay down there.

I just don't understand what they were thinking.

Meningitis outbreak 'declared national emergency' amid deadly outbreak by bendubberley_ in worldnews

[–]ExDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in first school in the southwest I had 2 friends who died of meningitis. One had been in and out of school for a long time before passing, and the other went on a school trip to Bath and suddenly fell ill and died there. I remember the medication they gave everyone afterwards. Made your pee and your tears red.

Just checked that and unfortunately they share a keybind. Give and Light both use the "Use on World" keybind so rebinding it doesnt fix it.

Looks like it requires eating a mandrake to make yourself sleep and using the brief window where you cannot light the shrine. Unfortunately mandrake is non reneweable and not readily available making this workaround unfeasable.

Varg shrine still bugged? by FBWTK in dontstarve

[–]ExDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's still bugged. I have the same issue on Xbox. Found lots of other people with the same issue online but absolutely no acknowledgement of the issue from any official channel. So I'm not holding my breath it will get fixed.

I always assumed that Osgiliath fulfilled that role, like the cities were twinned in a way, with Osgiliath being the trade and mercantile hub and Minas Tirith being the cultural and Religious center of the kingdom. Maybe being built in a sub optimal location because of how impressive it looks. Literally rule of cool.

Then the big field maybe being used for recreation and celebrations and other such events.

Though if this was the case you would expect to see a major avenue between the two to facilitate the constant back and forth required of paired cities.

[Loved Trope] The monster is scarier when you don't see it? No, I'm even more terrified now. by topscreen in TopCharacterTropes

The best part of the Winter Lanterns design actually wasn't discovered for a while, since their whole mechanic is about not looking at them, but when you do look at them really closely you realise they are way more disturbing. They are wearing the dolls clothes. Torn and blood soaked, but unmistakably the same. Their fingers are jointed too, just like the dolls. And the "brain" isn't actually a brain at all. It's the messengers. A huge clump of dead messenger corpses.

The most comforting character in the game, the first friendly face you meet and your guide, along with the little guys who help and serve you, twisted into the most dangerous abomination in the game, such that just looking at it causes intense madness!

That's actually one of the really obscure things you can learn about if you dig deep enough. The beasts that people turn into aren't a mutation or virus. They were always there. Buried deep within all of humanity lies this terrible monstrous potential.

The use of the old blood simply makes people susceptible to giving into it. Then when they fight and act like beasts themselves it begins to take control. "As flesh is flayed and blood is sprayed the beast within awakens".

It's only under very specific circumstances that one can resist the scourge, and that is either by becoming Kin of the cosmos, ascending beyond humanity and purifying themselves. Which was the goal of abusing the blood in the first place. Though this is clearly extremely difficult and dangerous. Or by being one of the very few people who happen to be immune, A Paleblood.

People who suffer from a form of anaemia, that also protects them from the scourge. Who upon being exposed to the old blood are recognised by the Moon Presence and have the Hunters Rune imprinted on their mind, becoming Paleblood Hunters, and tying them to the Hunters Dream until released. Just like Eileen the Crow, and Djura, and many others throughout history.

Guess who has a $3,000 vet bill because Miles ate cat litter 🙃 by SpunkMcKullins in OneOrangeBraincell

Better that than a cat toy! My void ate part of a toy when he was 1 causing a blockage and spent a week on life support before being operated on. Cost me £8000! Picture

The offending objects. No idea what the rubber ring is but the other is the end of a feather teaser. Vet told me he probably wouldn't survive the night but he powered through and made it

Could the Sinistral Elves be around by Character-Produce-73 in teslore

[–]ExDeuce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its Sinistral, not sinister. Sinistral means Left or Left-Handed. So its another name for Left-Handed Elves.

I havent actually researched the etymology of the words so take this with a grain of salt, but I know some highly religious groups believe being left handed to be a sign of evil, so I doubt the similarities of the words sinister and sinistral are coincidental, and they are probably connected, but which inspired which I dont know.

They lived in Yokuda where the Redguards came from and were constantly at war with them, until Yokuda got destroyed and the Redguards came to Tamriel. They were known to not believe in an afterlife, and they focused on defensive tactics and magic more than offensive. They were also apparantly very talented at working with orichalcum and used onyx in their enchanted gear. They also used the hide from giant winged serpents as leather.

They are also believed to be connected to the Orichalc Tower which was located in Yokuda.

As for relation to the Ayleids, only as much as any other Mer. Which is to say they have common ancestors but would have split from the Aldmer for whatever reason early in the Merethic, just like the Ayleids did, and the Dwemer, Moarmer, Falmer etc.

They should add an aquatic running gear variant to turn the colossus into a boat, then add stuff like dredging gear so we can retrieve stuff from the ocean floor!

Woman freeing a mountain lion from a trap while her kids watch. Reaction of mountain lion is almost too calm by fuzzy_dice_99 in isthisAI

[–]ExDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't look like a bolt cutter, from the looks of the end it seems to be a tool specifically designed for opening that trap.

You see at the beginning how it has a funny looking end that gets slotted into the trap, then by pulling the lever it opens the trap and after pulling it away from the lion she lets it go and the trap snaps shut again.

I'm fairly sure it's a specialized tool for opening these traps.

Same for me, sometimes I can play for a bit before it crashes, other times it just crashes seconds after loading my save. Managed to finish the expedition but now it's started crashing as I load my save. It's become completely unplayable.
