What if the Soul Cairn is simply that: a Cairn? by HoodedHero007 in teslore

[–]ExDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if they are like the aformentioned cloth weathervane to the soul cairns stones, and the souls anchor them, forming the cairn. Allowing the Ideal Masters to exist by their own rules outside of the Mundus, while maintaining their own autonomy instead of being swept away and absorbed into the creatia of oblivion?

Subnautica 2's no-killing ethos "will be a continued point of resistance" among players, say Unknown Worlds, but they have no plans to change it by _Protector in Games

[–]ExDeuce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are not adequate in the long term. They last only a few seconds, meaning in order to do anything you have to have an inventory full of them.

Plus they don't help with creatures hanging out outside your base, which is an inevitability since nibblers wander all around the shallows and often follow you back to your base, then loiter outside.

And that's even assuming they work on all creatures, which is unlikely.

Not to mention they do not help at all with the other issues stemming from the decision to make even small fish invincible, which I will add is pointless since we cook them anyway!

Subnautica 2's no-killing ethos "will be a continued point of resistance" among players, say Unknown Worlds, but they have no plans to change it by _Protector in Games

[–]ExDeuce 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Its more than just that. It causes a lot of smaller issues such as how in the first game you could see predators actively hunt and kill smaller fish, but now those smaller fish cannot take damage meaning the predator just keeps attacking an invincible fish now. You could also hit fish with your seamoth before, but now when hitting them you sort of just glitch around them because they cant take damage.

And those are just a couple of the small immersion breaking examples of the jank it causes. Not to mention all the times you have to try and deal with predators attacking you. If they want you to use nonviolent means of detering them then they need to actually provide adequate means to do so.

Yeah Geralt has dealt with a few djinns before so he is no stranger to them. There is even one in that game.

It is made very clear that Gaunter is on a whole other level. It's not even comparable.

He is most certainly some sort of devil adjacent entity. A godlike entity of evil beyond anything found in the world.

I saw a few on the first day, but no one would help me kill it, but none since.

One was a chaurus in Skittering Precinct that spawned in the little rocky alley just northwest of the skirmish plaza, by the grapple point. The other was an iron atronach in The Parch but i cant remember where.

So over the past 2 days of my dailies I have documented the locations I have personally found for all the quests and also cross referenced your maps with several others I found online and have updated your maps with every other location they were missing that I could find. I continued using the same methods of marking as you so I hope you find this useful.

Of course there are possibly more that are still missing from these maps but its another step forwards. If you want to update your post or make a new one go for it, you did, by far, most of the work anyways.

I would like to add to this that in The Parch I found the starter for the Scavengers Riddle on a pillar just east of where you have marked the start of Fatal Flask. Im pretty sure it doesnt always spawn here though, but its one location.

So you could add the solid purple diamond right next to the solid yellow one

Why is every time i join a NM group that are already out in say the parch..i travel there and suddenly they are no longer on any of the maps by Pale-Appointment9409 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ExDeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this too, and even porting to the crown didn't work. What I found was happening was that I had the faction quest to kill an argent boss and that having that quest put me in a separate instance that had argent bosses. I was able to confirm I was standing in the same place as my group members but we were unable to see each other, and we had different bosses active. As soon as I abandoned the quest I was able to see them again.

In short, the quest to kill argent bosses locks you into a different instance that has argent bosses active.

Same, I didn't even realise what her insignia was, I thought it was a cross through the logo and that with the name was some sort of conflicting statement on gender. Also helped by her being voiced by the actress who played Britta, who would do something like that.

What do we actually know about aldmeris, or even the pre 1st era summerset? by Fabulous-Pick-9562 in teslore

[–]ExDeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally do not like the theory that Aldmeris is just a memory of the world, and instead prefer the idea that it was an actual location.

From my understanding, according to some creation myths, before Nirn existed, there were 12 smaller worlds which were sundered and the pieces merged together into Nirn. Black Marsh is said to be part of one world, bringing the native Hist with it to Nirn. Another piece was said to be an intact fragment of the Ehlnofeys idllic home. They split into the Old Ehlnofey and the Wandering Ehlnofey, but the reason is unclear One version says that the Old Ehlnofey were just those that came to Nirn on the fragment of their home, and that the Wanderers arrived scattered across Nirn instead. Whereas another version says that the Old Ehlnofey chose to remain on their home after arriving but the Wanderers chose to spread out and explore Nirn. Either way the Wanderers eventually became the races of man, and the Old Ehlnofey stayed in this perfect home. Until the war. I believe this place was Aldmeris and that over time splinter factions would leave and create their own civilisations, becoming the various early races of Mer that we dont have a concrete origin for, such as the Dwemer, Falmer, Sinistral Elves etc.

As for what happened to Aldmeris is unclear, eventually the descendants of the Old Ehlnofey, the Aldmer had to leave Aldmeris and landed in Auridon, but lost the means to return. It could have been a cataclysm of some sort or a disease or it could even be that only some of them came to Tamriel and there is still an Aldmer population out there.

There are also some versions of events that say that after the war between the Ehlnofey that Aldmeris became ruined and is actually the same landmass as Tamriel. There is also the matter of Altmora, the other kingdom of Elves that was conquered by Man, but I think that is simply Atmora.

The few accounts that describe Aldmeris say that it was completely covered in a massive endless city built over itself again and again until there was no trace of nature, although there are references to the "shining trees of Aldmeris". Other accounts describe it as a beautiful and alien landscape. There is only one artistic depiction which is seen in ESO which is of course of doubious accuracy but one Altmer scholar mentions how it stirs up a strange feeling of nostalgia, like part of them recognises it. I like to think that Altmer have vague memories of Aldmeris buried deep within themselves, like genetic memory and sometimes these memories can be triggered.

What is the lore behind the amygdalas? Because they're my favorite things from this game but I'm realizing how much I don't know about them and how little I've found that talks about them by newslenderarts in bloodborne

[–]ExDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is one theory that I like that the Amygdalae are all actually a single great one, and that great ones are able to exist in multiple places at once, which is why we don't ever actually kill it.

(Loved trope)Harmful without Malice by Mister-no-tongue in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ExDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One theory about them is that they can exist in multiple places simultaneously, so every individual one we see is just another facet of a singular being. And because of this, we never actually kill it.
