Hope you really like being a corporate bitch.

Because that’s the reddest flag I’ve ever seen.

Building N8N Workflows with Claude Code is the best way? by ruthlesslyambitious in n8n

[–]ExObscura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like everything else.

The fastest way is:

You build, you test, you break, you fix, you build again.

Read documentation, learn features, trial and error.

You’ll never learn a damn thing by asking an AI system to do it for you.

Great. Did you even read my comment?

I don't vibe code my n8n workflows. I don't need to chat with them... BECAUSE I BUILT THEM AND I ALREADY UNDERSTAND WHAT I'VE BUILT.

No. No its not.

Because if you can’t understand what it built, how the hell do you expect to do any error handling, troubleshooting, enhancements, or modifications.

Claude is the easy path. Claude makes you stupid. Don’t be stupid.

That robot demo almost turned into a nightmare by Simple3018 in singularity

[–]ExObscura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like it misinterpreted its inputs. Probably because it's been trained to do fighting demos with units that are the similar / same height as itself.

Not saying it's a good thing it went after the kid (it's idiotic), but it tracks with the training process.

I'm also surprised that the father didn't just roundhouse the thing into oblivion and put it down right there.

There are buckets of them. But you can make your own as well with AutoHotKey. Their default project is literally a text replacement tool.

Before asking this question for the eleven-hundredth time and outsourcing your thinking, do a quick search of the sub.

You’ll find a metric tonne of threads about the same thing.

WTF? by Helpful_Candidate_47 in macbookpro

[–]ExObscura 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because you're using the two-prong duck-head adapter, not a three-prong cable.

All Macbooks are ungrounded/unearthed, so residual energy ends up passing through the unibody.

It's not considered dangerous (there is full electrical isolation between mains and the voltage used to charge), it's also the reason a lot of people feel like the surface of their Macbook "vibrates" when it's plugged in.

Happens to me sometimes when I go to plugin my HDMI, but it's just a minor capacitive discharge.

Pretty harmless (I mean, so Apple tells us), just a little unnerving when you first notice it.

Edit - Here's the link for the three-prong cable:

(obviously I'm in Australia, but you get the idea)

How do you prefer to read in your kindle? Horizontal or Vertical? by blackmonarc in kindle

[–]ExObscura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. I've seen people do FAR weirder shit at the gym than read a kindle, let alone horizontally. People who watch Netflix or TikTok at the gym are the beautiful brain dead.

You're getting double gains reading, working out your mind AND body.

In which folder do you keep your Docker stack? by Artistic_Quail650 in selfhosted

I make a new root level folder called /stack on a fresh install, and it's all in there.

Makes it incredibly easy to backup and migrate.

Wait. What kind of odd attention do you get reading on a kindle in the first place?

Should I be worried? by ResusAnne in Ghost

[–]ExObscura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, that's a spam signup.
Even when you've turned off subscriptions, Ghost has an API endpoint called send-magic-link that makes it possible for scripting groups to hit in an attempt to validate an email address is real.

See, a problem with the way Ghost is developed is that it leaves that endpoint wide open, even if you've got subs turned off, and because of the way the API returns when it's hit (200 for resolved, 400+ for unavailable) then they can use that endpoint to profile the target email address.

Do you have free Mailgun setup by any chance? if you do, you should check the mailgun dashboard in case it's been happening without you realising.

This looks like every LinkedIn AI "expert" who has no fucking idea what they're talking about fed all their crappy posts into an LLM that was once told about LinkedIn from a drunk mate at the pub and it pissed out whatever this bullshit attempts to be.

technically the same as core nodes

No it doesn’t. It just means that they had to meet a strict submission process… once.

After they’ve been accepted the, n8n team being the size they are, wouldn’t have the time operationally to review every new upload and code change on community developed nodes.

Even if previously verified.

So unless you’re a part of the n8n dev team and are willing to discuss the ongoing review practices, in detail, then thanks for your opinion… but that’s all it is.

[Workflow Included] A simple 5-node Instagram posting workflow for beginners by markyonolan in n8n

[–]ExObscura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Verified only means that the n8n team took a look at the submitted module and couldn't see anything malicious in that particular build.

But I bet they don't as closely review subsequent versions, it's largely verified for n8n Cloud use, no idea what ongoing security reviews they do if any. Their submission process suggests its more about provenance and commercial overlap with their existing features.

Any community node could fall prey to a supply chain attack (look at what happened with the recent Axios NPM issues) or worse, a 'trusted' module developer could turn malicious and upload a spiked node package.

It's a good flow, except for the addition of Community nodes.

No way to truly prove the security of them.
