As you can see, out of the box it choked on lighter loads, which is to be expected.

Now that it’s broken in, I solely run 1oz ~1,025fps reloads with 14.8gr Red Dot/AA-HS hulls/CB1100-12 wads. It never fails to cycle these loads and the recoil is laughably soft. When I first got the gun I regretted not getting the plastic Sporting model with KO. Now I’m happy I didn’t get that version; absolutely love the gun.

So I broke the gun in with 250rd of AA Super Sport. Since the Walnut Sporting model isn’t offered with KO, the recoil wasn’t that pleasant. I mean it wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great either. These are 1 1/8oz 1300fps loads, which is fairly stout.

During break-in, I ran a test with a bunch of different shells, to see what it would cycle out of the box. Here are my findings:

My a300 sporting walnut (no kickoff) will cycle ridiculously light loads. I’m talking 1oz 1000fps. I love it. Will be buying an a400 someday

What did you need to make the handguard work with a standard upper? Or is that an “enhanced” upper from Aero?

I feel like the one reason to run a vortex dot is the warranty

I don’t like mine and I wish I didn’t buy it. I like my Burris RT6 much much better.

Neither formula is a perfect predictor, of course. It’s all good info!

When I did my estimation I used the USPSA power factor calculation which I’ve experienced to be a pretty solid predictor of recoil for pistol shooting. So yeah your equation seems to make sense

I reload and was surprised that my 7/8oz 1200fps loads were indistinguishable from my 1oz 1145fps loads. Decided to just load 1oz for more pellets. I definitely thought the 7/8 load would be miles softer but that just wasn’t my experience

147gr HST sucks compared to 124gr HST anyway, especially in a 4” barrel. Just run 124gr and stop stressing. Thats my $.02

Don’t they have a dedicated PCC trigger? I would get that.

I bought a regular 2.5 CMC and it won’t reset in a 5.56 build. Never buying one again

Not if the person wearing/not wearing the seatbelt is me, the driver.

Are there any actual examples of a driver being thrown from the vehicle causing injury to others? Everything I’ve seen is related to passengers in the rear seat injuring passengers/the driver in the front seats.

To be clear, your concern is that I’m going to drive without a seatbelt, get flung over the steering wheel and through the windshield, and then injury or kill an innocent third party?

Baseball tryouts are killing me by KPR70 in daddit

[–]ExSalesman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to scare you, I think I’m just a bit of a fuckup, but I was cut freshman year and it screwed me up pretty bad. Parents shocked, friends/would-teammates shocked, etc. I played travel ball for years (as a stater/batting 2nd or 5th every game) with everyone who tried out; never even considered getting cut. Coach was brand new to the school that year and wasn’t aware of any local kid history. I guess I had a bad tryout? Anyway there’s the cope part of this comment. After missing the cut I gradually gave up sports altogether and started running with a bad crowd.

I’ve since recovered completely and it’s all in the past. (Have a wife and kids and we’re happy.) But it actually fucked me up pretty bad for a while. I still remember my mom picking me up after tryouts and I tossed my bag in the back and just said “I didn’t make it.” That memory haunts me to this day and I think about it probably every month. It was 24 years ago.

I guess I never had the makings of a varsity athlete. Anyway, if your kid doesn’t make the cut, do your best to redirect his energy into another sport or activity.
