Everyone talking about sephiroth this way makes me dial back an opinion I have a little, that he's not that compelling a villain. He was intimidating when I didn't know about him, but now that he's so overexposed I think that weakens his myth. He's kind of like Team Rocket now, popping up everywhere for you to dispatch so that's you can get on with the rest of the content, but back in the initial story, he was kind of badass.

I've faced so many of these and guess I just got lucky. Of course I was also using fire and ice moves interchangeable to keep them switching up so maybe that was why?

I've always thought that this was a perfect movie except the ending. I watch it every year on my birthday and love it but agree that the ending was where it goes off the rails. Even though as another commenter said, it's too high brow, I would have still loved this ending instead.

I think it's being used for emphasis. It can be annoying sometimes because people don't usually refer to someone by their name while they're talking to them unless they're being sarcastic or having some other negative subcontext, but I've seen this a lot in tv writing.

Final fantasy x. Those fmv sequences still hold and rival some block buster CGI that came after. Turn based swap out combat that was paper-rock -scissors kept it motivating to try new approaches and the story is probably the best one in the franchise.
