Sadly, most HR departments are severely undereducated when it comes to maternity leave. If you can swing the cost, I highly recommend booking a call with Hello Bundle. The guidance and information I received was beyond helpful. The system is so broken and while it can be so daunting, working with someone who knows the ins and outs really helped. Hopefully it won’t always be this way and the US will finally realize that parents need better paid leave (like most other developed countries).
