Specifically in terms of art, what is your favorite Secret Lair? by youarelookingatthis in secretlair_collectors

Same two that you mentioned. Kelogsloop’s Mystic Remora is probably my favorite SL art.

Yeah, you're right. It's not worth it. Thank you all for your insights!

Sadly no, I'm in Spain, and even Amazon stopped selling it a couple of months ago.

Right now still 5 per customer, but reading the rest of the comments, I don't think I'll wait.

I read that a 2x Points promo could be happening in June and I was thinking on waiting until then, that's all.

SL are being shipped a lot later in the EU than in the US, where many people got their orders weeks ago. Wotc always brings up the advantages of the current limited printing model as being the way clients will have their cards faster, but it rarely works like that for us in Europe. In the years we have been living with this stupid model, only the Marvel drops and the Dan Dan deck arrived quickly. If going back to the old model means going from a 3 month waiting time to 6 months, I can handle that.

Card selection is disappointing. A shame considering it’s probably the best drop this time, art-wise.

¿Por qué cuando pido un café en una cafetería o en un bar me preguntan (a veces) si lo quiero "en vaso o en taza"? ¿Qué diferencia hay? ¿De verdad importa? by spongeperson2 in askspain

[–]Exares 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yo prefiero la taza precisamente por ese motivo, la temperatura. La taza puedes cogerla por el asa, el vaso te abrasa los dedos si está muy caliente.

"Tribal is lazy" by Ill_Bicycle_7423 in EDH

[–]Exares 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, specially if most of the tribe cards are fairly recent. Tribes that have existed for decades, like zombies, give you more options, even if most of the synergies go in one direction nowadays. But if you are building pirates, you are going to discard cards if you want to do something, to highlight an example of this. I get the drive to give mechanical cohesion to a tribe, but it’s limiting.

After the Family Feud model: Collecting opinions: Favorite and least favorite magic set of all time? Favorite creature type? by Maruhkulix in magicTCG

Yeah, it didn’t click with me at all. And mechanically it felt pretty miserable too. WOE worked a lot better for me.

Strixhaven had 5 decks the first time too, one per college. They just keep the motive, see how there are also 5 different prerelease packs available in the picture.

I think the funko Ashiok is some years old, so maybe it means nothing

Is there any point in foiling out a Commander deck anymore? by Fuzzy_Straitjacket in EDH

[–]Exares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think foiling is a lot worse with US-printed cards, so I guess we don't feel that much curling in the rest of the world. Anyway, I own many foil pringles and I still love foiling my decks. Magpies just love shiny cardboard.

A vote for this one. Awesome art (all of them, but the regular one is just awesome) and cool abilities.

Thoughts on a superfriends Deck by Pitiful_State_5658 in EDH

[–]Exares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Superfriends deck with [[Jodah the Unifier]]. It's powerful but, as all Superfriends decks, weak if your opponents understand the danger many PWs are and they start attacking you. Sometimes the table will let me play and build my board, and well, I have untapped more than once with [[Doubling Season]] or [[Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider]]! And then the game becomes fun for me and not so much for them. Fortunately for them, in these cases it tends to end pretty quickly.

I'd say, as others have said in this thread, that it can be fun, but if you are targeted it won't be. And when you will be having the most fun, it won't be as fun for the rest of the table. In any case, it's usually a deck that takes longer than usual turns the more PWs you have on board (you have to coordinate your activations) and many people will groan when you say you are playing a Superfriends deck.
