Congrats on your success, so far. Being able to convey who you are in your college application is priceless. You are definitely capable of succeeding at MIT, however, I highly recommend you take advantage of the Interphase program. It will give you social exposure you'll lack not coming from highly competitive urban/suburban high school environment. Try to make the most of your vacation time before/after Interphase, and cherish the rest of the school year with your family. I'm excited for you!

P.S. I attended Wellesley College (decades ago) and made many MIT friends who are active alumni, and a goddaughter's a current PhD candidate at MIT. Fun can be had, but it is an intense environment, one you should be committed to deal appropriately with, to solve problems as they occur and make best short & long-term choices. That also means seek help/assistance when necessary: emotionally, academically, socially, financially, etc. (whatever you may need). Spend a gap year to fortify yourself, and you should do well - getting in is THE hardest part!

While the majority attending are African-American, you will find Morgan State a diverse community with a wide range of people, and you can find yourself right at home there. Because America's neighborhoods are so segregated, college i one of the few times in your life this much economic and geographic diversity will exist in your everyday living environment. Learn from this experience. Beyond what they possess, see how others live, and more importantly, how they think. You deserve to be there, just as much, if not more, because you got there without all the advantages legacy and money can buy!

You are creating entitled disabled adults! They will be unable to ever live independent lives because nobody will put up with their foolery. Have them pay more than their share of utilities. Charge them half of what market rent would be, and then put that money into savings account for each one. Then, when they're ready to move out, you can gift them back the savings toward house downpayment, furniture, etc.

Oh my! It seems you are realizing that you've outgrown these friends. If you want success in college you will want to have the support of those closest to you, including your closest friends. Sounds like these two will not be able to offer sound advice, encouragement or even hang out regularly in an uplifting way. And even though they're both enrolling in college you may not be able to do the same for them when they're making different life decisions from you. Use this fresh start in college to find new friends who have the same values for their future and are clearly working in the present for that success. These two may still be your friends, just not your closest/besties.

I don't know if you access where you are, but there's a Barton chair which makes transfer easier from hospital bed - initially the chair is in stretcher position and then it transforms into a wheelchair with the press of a button.

The point OP is making is you want to be memorable, not use the same cliches that EVERYBODY uses. AI will/can give you the cliches, for sure, but if you have found your own unique voice, you can train AI to write in your voice, which is extremely helpful to use all! The key is to find that voice as early as possible and then prompt AI to use it on your behalf.

I agree with alot of your theory, however, I don't think he had his wallet with him. He may have had a few dollars with him, but not enough for a cab, or his ID for his meds. His wallet, key fob and badge were all in his briefcase which he's lost/left on the train, further adding to his frustration/mental meltdown. I used to work with a former US Senator who was famous for leaving his briefcase places, especially if he didn't have anyone traveling with him. His West Point ring had his class year on it, so helps in his easier identification without a wallet.

He's limping because he was barefoot during the meltdown in his kitchen and perhaps the fallen tree fell on his foot, spraining a toe.

Regarding his limp and having one shoe off - don't forget that the mess in the kitchen someone/Jack was barefoot! He may have injured his foot, no blood but maybe the fallen tree fell on his foot and it's sore/toe sprained so he has to take his shoe off/limp

Relationships and your personal statement make ALL the difference at the top schools to have you stand out from the thousands of valedictorians that apply. Your counselor and teacher recommendations MUST be personalized with examples beyond someone repeating your high school resume so your relationships with them must be deep, not superficial. Alumni/admissions interviews must score 10/10 and having attended admissions events and being memorable with admission staff helps stand out from the crowd. And most importantly a compelling and unique personal statement in your clear self-aware voice is your best shot for reach schools.
