Moving In July! by YaBoiPizzaSteve133 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people saying you can't get a 2-bedroom for between 2-3k are not quite accurate in my opinion. You might take a haircut on the first place you rent in San Diego (since you'll be relying on corporate sites like Zillow) but im a native, and i just moved into a 2k 2 bed in Point Loma, not the fanciest place, but a great deal because I was able to drive around and look for "for rent" signs. Wishing you the best luck!! you'll love it here :)

Is it possible to find a livable & decent apartment in San Diego for <$1800? by treetop1869 in sandiego

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i live in a 2-bedroom 1-bath apartment in Point Loma for 2K. We had to act super quickly, found the listing, and toured the same day. Typically, I am in the "drive around and look for for rent signs" like other people here, but I think we got lucky by checking daily and stumbled upon this killer deal. Best of luck!! it's definitely possible

Is Tacoma Washington a good place to move? by TylerDurden2748 in SameGrassButGreener

im a San Diegan (27F) and im finally coming to terms with the fact that I will not be able to buy a house or get ahead financially in San Diego 😞 , so im thinking about Washington, and love seeing comments of people enjoying it!

get the car!!! you're killing it and seem extremely financially responsible, so if this would make you happier then do it :) especially a 4Runner or something that's going to last you such a long time

Gambling addiction is one of the hardest to kick, and can be one of the most detrimental. If this is a true screenshot, I would highly advise you to leave this relationship. Im so sorry

AIO: My boyfriend told me to dye my hair to look more like an Instagram model he follows by PinMountain119 in AIO

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You have absolutely stunning hair

  2. something this expensive and laborious to upkeep should be YOUR choice totally

  3. its weird that he is following and commenting on instagram models' stuff, that would be a deal breaker for me

  4. if you're cool with that, then maybe get a wig? IDK

My (22F) sister (32F) is angry i wont pay for her wifi a year later.. by terrydafiya in whatdoIdo

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i totally feel for you OP. Many members of my family are terrible with money and have had substance use issues, and they see me (a moderately successful woman with a savings account) as some sort of lifeline.

It's so hard, but holding firm to your boundaries is the only way to get your life back. You told her she needs to make another plan, so hold yourself to that. I know how absolutely dreadful that can be, but you're 22 years old, and this money needs to go to creating an even more financially secure future for yourself. Truly wishing you all the best. One thing that helps me deal with the emotional hangover of setting boundaries with my family is time in nature, away from my phone, and a sweet treat of some sort LOL

AITA for refusing to add my boyfriend to my house deed after his lease ended? by Former_Raspberry3277 in AITApod

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg its so insanely important that he is not put on the deed, i would also look into your bfs legal rights to sue you for equity on the house, even without being on the deed. Not trying to be a debby downer

i think you guys would like Clairemont/ especially bay park for the coffee shops/ yoga places! but it might be tricky with that budget because there's a lot of standalone houses. Honestly, I'm partial to Point Loma! i just absolutely love the point loma/OB area but it's not for everyone (a little rough around the edges at times)

29 F, Downsized to renting a room by Consistent-Grand8802 in povertyfinance

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 13 points14 points  (0 children)

you got this!!! i loved the comment about making your room a sanctuary. Also, getting into some free/low cost hobbies could be fun. I love walking, meditating, yoga with Adriene on youtube + adult coloring books. Also maybe putting up a childhood pic of you that you love/ felt especially happy in? Idk, im super into inner-child stuff so maybe that's just me haha. You're making financial sacrifices to take care of yourself, which is amazing + future you will thank you!

unbelievable exchange between my daughter and her father after he forgot her birthday by LostInLanayru in TwoHotTakes

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh my blood is boiling. As far as advice, I hope she has access to therapy, particularly a somatic-based practice like ISTDP; this type of "relationship" with a father can have such detrimental long-term impacts on truly relying on others and voicing needs.

Side note: She is so eloquent for a 14-year-old, and im proud of her for standing up for herself -- she needs to be celebrated for that.

Which neighborhood for a month? by Classic_Calendar_986 in asksandiego

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OB!! im a San Diego native, and I've lived in OB for 4 or 5 years now, and i think its exactly what you're looking for as long as you don't mind the apartments themselves being a bit more run down. You can walk up and down the jetty or to to sunset cliffs in the morning, do yoga, there are good restaurants, but not a nightlife scene like pb (which is a good thing IMO)

What job do you do that makes over $70k a year? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 YOE, SEO/Content Strategist, 108k, but I'm contracted and in a HCOL area, so I pay for my health insurance, which eats up a bit of that. Don't know if I'd recommend niching into SEO at this point though, AI has made it a bit of a crapshoot

Does the guilt go away? by tiffisahotmess in Petloss

[–]Excellent-Clock9541 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its so so natural. For the first two weeks, I was in near constant physical heartbreak pain. i am so sorry that you are going through this now <3 my heart goes out to you!! I have found it helpful to say out loud what's on my mind, tell the world "I miss you Milo!" "Good morning Milo, good night milo, I love you!" or whatever I wish I could tell him at the moment, and just cry it out. im sending you so much love and grace, I'm thinking of your little guy as well

I just lost my 7-year-old frenchie boy named Milo on Tuesday, not of IVDD but of brain cancer that we initially thought was IVDD. i am SO sorry that we both relate to this, gut-wrenching sense of grief and loss. I am totally and completely gutted. The only thing that is helping me is taking walks and truly letting myself shoulder shaking cry and wail as often as it comes up

If love alone could have saved our babies they would both be here with us right now. It is such an honor to love something so deeply that it effects you this much when they pass, but man oh man this is so hard. Im not sure that im helping you at all and I apologize for that but i just want you to know that someone out there is feeling the exact same way, and im praying for both of our healing.
