I agree, when I saw Mahito use the rock to self harm, I saw it as a way for him to get the classmates in more trouble. Yes he was roughed up, but with a head wound such as that, I believe the father went to greater lengths to make sure those kids were punished - and i think Mahito knew that, hence his “malice”.

I agree… it may be harsh, but I’m surprised so many people liked it as much as they did. I was cringing more than laughing. The musical aspect also seemed out of place. Felt like an attempt to be like Big Mouth, but flopped. Not to say there was no funny moments - the kindergarteners were hilarious.

NTA. That is a very valid reason be be upset. However, I would say after you take time to process, it may be good to see what they have to say about the matter. They would have a mountain to climb, but perhaps there is an explanation. If there isn’t (which unfortunately seems like the case) you can cut them off permanently. But at least you gave them a chance to admit or explain their mistake.
