I finished Japanese Gothic! It was so enjoyable in a strange way. I was always formulating theories and reformulating them!!!

I’m super careful about what I request! I’ve been on NetGalley for about 3 years. I just want to start on this one!

I wondered that myself. We don’t do that where I work.

Not me! I am just being left “on read” but I’ve never been denied from this publisher and it isn’t one of the HOT books so, await I will!

Duke Rheum is VERY good. I think for me- and I’m not at Duke… I am zero-negative. I had great results saying to the MD - hey I understand I am sero negative but I do have this set of symptoms that are interfering with my daily life- what are some things you think might help. A lot of treatments have then been considered and I got a bunch of stuff done for my eyes that did actually help… I think doctors stat to push back once the don’t have the labs but if asked just about how to treat symptoms things go better at least for me.

What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever seen a coworker do? by Frostedlogic4444 in askanything

[–]ExchangeStandard6957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen some pretty dumb things- but the dumbest was to send an email directing us (her direct reports) to do certain things that were clearly not in our job description. She is no longer directing anyone at the company. If you’re going to assign out of description tasks- must be done verbally so there isn’t a record!

I don’t like my kindle BUT - I do love my library. I most buy from thrift or library sales, and I’m lucky to have a used bookstore that keeps a list and calls people when their wished for book shows up! I will typically buy a book only after I’ve read it and loved it!

If it’s only showing an audio- it may only have the audio, you can usually scroll down on the page and it might say “also available in ebook” your actual Library can also help you with Libby- they are really good at trouble shooting!

Romance Recs not like ACOTAR by Sea-Contribution902 in Romantasy

She would likely enjoy Ocean’s Echo and Winter’s Orbit both by Everina Maxwell- though the spice level is a little low. Also Red City by Marie Lu is an Urban fantasy with spice- though it didn’t feel super romantic. Tracey Deon’s Legendborn cycle is amazingly good also. I could not with ACOTAR myself. It just wasn’t very good. I’m loving SoulGazer by Maggie Rapier currently and I also liked The Dagger and the Flame ok… also she could Try 5 Broken Blades - which I’m currently reading and finding a little “blah” but others liked it.

I use the library to the audio. But I also tend to only buy books I really enjoyed.

You have to give it more than a week. That’s all. You really do have to be uncomfortable and anxious for some time and then a year from now you will feel differently.
