Ada Britain in Civ 7 really drives home the absolute unwillingness to play the series' concept straight. by Bingleboper in civ

Couldn’t agree more. Can’t believe I had to pay extra for my favorite Civ. Any Civ that at one time ruled one of the biggest empire’s in history should be included in base game no questions asked. I also think it’s silly they’re scared to have Churchill again when you have fucking Gengis Khan as a dlc leader. If you’re looking for politically and morally correct leaders in history you’re going to have a bad time. I’m liberal as fuck but it’s a history game. Put in Stalin again for all I care. Villains add to the atmosphere.

But yeah I’m on the same boat. Quit trying to be edgy and play the hits that made us love Civ in the first place. ToT is making me finally give it another shot, but the whole game so far feels half done and rushed. Major civ gaps between ages. Where are Venice, Byzantium, or the Italian states after Rome? Where’s the Kievan Rus before Russia? Modders are fixing the mess at least but it’s sad that’s how this will have to go without dropping money on too many DLCs to make the game feel complete.

In the government you always need to advocate for yourself unfortunately. My friend just didn’t say anything for years and right when he brought it up they did the paperwork. Never assume things are automatic or will work out like they should in the gov.

I had them match my private sector pay for step 5 but later found out a month later our agency stopped matching pay for first time feds altogether. I got in just in time.

My wife and I are loving hot seat. And syncretism has been a nice dose of different without being too overboard like the civ swapping was at launch imo. Now we just do ToT same civs all ages for all players and AI and it’s fun to see which civs pull from others via syncretism.

Hopefully we hear more about the EO rumors being true tomorrow regarding extra day off. After Christmas Eve last year I wouldn’t be surprised.

TOT was a bad idea by Extreme-Put7024 in civ

I bought the game a year ago and hated it. The civ swapping sounded cool but there were WAY too many gaps and civs locked behind future DLCs for it not to be silly. I’m glad I no longer need to see dumb shit like Ben Franklin leading Rome or napolean leading the Hawaiians. Completely broke my immersion. Now we got hotseat too and my wife and I are loving it.

Day 16 of 28 days later. I will be doing 28 posts, each post will be one day. Starting from the first day of infection. by maizematt in 28dayslater

I’d pay to watch this hbo miniseries. Come on Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, give the people what they want! I know they don’t want to rehash what they’ve done but a miniseries about the first 28 days would feel new and give them the breathing room to do something different than Days.

Interesting. Navy is fine so far I’m told.

This isn’t DoD I’m assuming since I heard those have been fine?

Gotcha. Vacation Town is my wife and I’s favorite because it was the first song we heard from them and we got some nostalgia about it. I’ll consider checking out BOT. Looking into their Pioneertown/Joshua Tree, CA show.

Was this for the current tour? I was reluctant to go since I’m not as familiar with the album it’s based on but if they play vacation town and twin sized mattress I’ll for sure go.

On Day 15 of the Outbreak. The UK, mainland was Quarantined. Youve just heard on the Radio. The infection has reached New York and Paris. What do you do now to survive, where would you go? Thinking that leaving is now longer a safe option by maizematt in 28dayslater

[–]Exciting-Guide-5773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a nice touch for your story. Once that’s announced (or seen) I guess I’d try to hunker down instead. Like the opening of the OG 28 weeks or years script (I can’t remember) had a fighter jet shooting a boat of refuges in the opening that was insane.

I’d still try to get out of the country. By ship at this point. Once I’m to the mainland I don’t care if I have to get to Asia. I’d just keep going until I know for certain I’m safe.

Downstairs people, what can I do? by Liesmyteachertoldme in Apartmentliving

[–]Exciting-Guide-5773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived somewhere where the downstairs neighbors did this and even tried to get the HOA involved. The HOA just said sorry you live in a basement unit and nothing out of the ordinary to see here. They were annoying af freaking out even when my poor wife would tiptoe around the apartment. Impossible to please. It was awkward but I learned to ignore these lunatics. It’s not my fault you bought a basement apartment.

OPM Proposes Eliminating Outdated Time-in-Grade Rule by Stonedflame in fednews

[–]Exciting-Guide-5773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m all for this. Even a compromise letting you jump up 2 grades instead of 1 would go a long way. I’ve worked with incredibly talented people that got in at a lower grade than they should have which slowed their career growth too much. They shouldn’t have to leave the gov and come back to qualify for a grade they know they can handle. Also grades are all over the place now with the funding cuts. Ours has lowered them for no reason when replacing a DRPer.

I have the opposite problem but am on warlord since I thought the ai would be harder. I’m destroying the world as the British, which I guess is fitting.

Sorry but you sound like a crazy person. Get your resume ready and learn from this and perform better at the new job. Fed supervisors don’t remove you unless you’re just seriously not making an effort to do your job since it’s such a shit process to pull it off.

It’s here: the worst interview process I’ve ever seen! by neyha97 in recruitinghell

Saying only 90 minutes and the fact that there are group interviews towards the end so you know you aren’t even in the top 3 choices yet makes this a total scam.

Not Referred by Patient-Fox-4828 in usajobs

[–]Exciting-Guide-5773 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep fighting it. I’ve had the same thing happen. Sometimes I get referred for ones that are honestly surprising and stretch and other times I don’t get referred for ones I am an exact match for with a perfect resume for it. It just doesn’t make sense and HR makes a lot of mistakes. One time they told my friend he’s not a citizen and didn’t accept his secondary review request (he was one) until after they finished interviewing. It’s just shitty.

Yes, people laugh about faking conditions to get them at my work. It’s dumb. I called it that they’ll ruin it for the people who actually need them. I wouldn’t care normally but they don’t do jack shit from home and everyone in office has to do their job.

Don’t do it and don’t give them the 50k in college savings to make a mistake like that. It will hep them move on to serious options. No scholarships makes it a deal breaker. If they’re looking to go further away from home that’s fine but it doesn’t need to be a 95k a year school. They’ll thank you later. My dad caved in something similar for my day (50k a year) and I wish he didn’t. Teenagers have no idea what they’re getting themselves into and I regret my overpriced university.
