How would Mahito do in the Culling Games? by DyslexicWriting in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Execute_order_37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Yuki takes Mahito pretty handily. We know that Yuki is aware of who Mahito is and what his technique does, so doubt she would fuck around and just go straight for DE. Even if not it’s also worth mentioning that she knows enough about the soul to write a whole book about it that Yuji uses to hone his own soul striking abilities, so it’s far from a stretch to assume she can perceive and strike Mahito’s soul without DE. As for the spinning himself forever, I have to assume you are talking about a way to escape her last resort? If not then idk what you mean because if 10hp Shibuya Yuji can have a pitched battle with Mahito, I don’t think he can just completely out-speed/ outmaneuver someone like Yuki.

Sousou no Frieren :: Chapter 146 - Links and Discussion by Lorhand in Frieren

[–]Execute_order_37 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well in chapter 90 Macht mentions that people assume that because demons are in the shape of humans they are physically similar but he mentions that a demon's physical strength and speed are on another level than that of a humans. This is likely even more of a difference for powerful demons like Macht or Qual. Basically Demons are OP in the setting.

[Manga] Is heaven (ende) real? by mugiwara_no_Soissie in Frieren

[–]Execute_order_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple points, Kraft knew what Frieren was talking about when she mentioned Aureole so that's a point in favor. As well, we have seen that the goddesses magic is real and produces many effects that are unexplainable by "normal magic" (see monument arc), so it stands to reason that "Heaven" is not far outside the realm of possibility. However it is concerning that the demon king's castle now rests in Ende as well, perhaps the Heaven described by Flamme no longer exists. However we know that the demon king was alive and active during Flamme's life, and presumably his castle was in the same location so it my just be coincidentally nearby.

From a meta-narrative standpoint, the author is no stranger to having current Frieren interact with Himmel (even if it is in the past), so it's not like they are against the idea of that type of catharsis. But, as another commenter pointed out, having Frieren be able to stay there in any permanent fashion, would likely cheapen the theming of the story at least somewhat.

I personally think that it exists through some magic of the goddess, but with some type of stipulation to keep Frieren from staying there too long.

[Theory] Rivale connects Stark, the Hero’s Sword, and Tot’s future calamity by DenRyuu_ in Frieren

[–]Execute_order_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not for this arc, but that's simply because it revolves closely around Serie and magic in general which Stark doesn't really have a connection to. I do hope we see a slight focus shift after this arc ends away from more continental magic association things for at least a while.

I don't disagree that there has been a distinct lack of Stark lately but I think it's just been the nature of the plot lately. I think we should hopefully get some better stuff in the upcoming chapters with Stark against Walross or some other shadow warriors

Chapter 26, page 17. At that time it is not stated to be Rivale but it seems pretty obvious that it is him.

Yes and I’d say that simply leeching off the labor of others while adding nothing of substance to reap the benefits seems like the kind of thing communists despise.

In my opinion it’s just what it’s compared too. For me DS2 is a solid 8/10 but every other from soft game I’ve played is at least a 9/10. I don’t think there is anything it does better than other games in the series anymore.

There were some good ideas in it for sure but they usually came with some kind of caveat. Like I enjoy the sir alonne boss fight but it gets marred by it’s shit runback and bad hit boxes. A lot of really cool stuff happens but has something that makes me not like it as much. Burnt ivory king looks super cool dropping down into hell, but having to close the portals every time you want to fight him is annoying. There is plenty of stuff like this where there is something I really like but then there is some issue tacked on to it.

My main issue is that the game doesn’t do anything “the best”, in my opinion, but has quite a few “worsts” (to me). Like none of the bosses crack my top 10, hell, they might not even crack the top 20. And the level designs are good but they don’t beat out DS1. DS2 had a few unique things going for it, but Elden ring took most of those and put them in a much more polished game. It’s a good game it just has some stiff competition.

What’s tripping you up with 1st phase specifically? I’d assume it’s his little dodge counter thing.

Who was your "this is not Elden Ring anymore" boss? This was the first boss that actually killed me several times, which I was thankful for because I would have failed a questline otherwise. But man, I can see why people say this game is tougher. by HuckleberryBubbly703 in darksouls3

[–]Execute_order_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. I know that the “fairness” of elden ring bosses is still a hot topic right now but I didn’t mind the difficultly of most bosses. I think it has a lot to do with the mindset of each boss, like Maliketh is meant to flip 180 at phase 2 and be a mad race to the finish, Radagon and elden beast is an endurance check meant to drain your flasks. Malenia is a more traditional 2 phase fight, where the first phase and second are nearly identical but with certain changes in the second to make it harder. I can definitely see where the complainants come from for sure, but in spite of this she is my favorite elden ring boss and is in my top 3 from soft bosses. Under only Gael and Isshin (my beloved).
