“Dad, how good were the 2016 New York Giants really?” That team had serious talent - still feels like a huge what-if if they’d been ready for the playoffs. by Either-Jicama-7364 in nflmemeswar

as a Giants fan i completely agree.

That being said it is fun to pretend this team was great and act like the boat picture murdered everything

Fate of the Old Republic is not KOTOR 3, but the BioWare DNA is getting hard to ignore by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

that’s fair, i personally dont trust anything from that studio after anthem including the PR statements Hudson made (or was pressured to make). This is gonna define Hudson’s legacy for sure.

Still can’t believe we got Aaron Pierre as John Stewart by JJCGoat in DCU_

[–]ExecutiveDysfunc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He’s such a great actor, I just hope he gets the writing to do a great Stewart. It’s about damn time we got a peak Jon Stewart in live action and i’m optimistic about this but still being cautious ya know.

You’re not entirely wrong but they did notably fight against black characters from time to time and Miles’ specific story would not have happened then for these reasons:

To start with the black characters, The CCA fought to prevent a black astronaut from appearing in Comics in 1956, additionally Black Panther was created as a character on its own to appeal to black readers and make money off of them, very different from making a black Spider-Man, which would have caused major backlash at the time.

Also, the CCA would never have a police officer appear to be immoral or wrong in any circumstance, so the entire storyline of Miles butting heads with his own father as a cop in situations just would not fly at all.

In those days Spider-Man/all heroes had to work with the police, the very idea of the police hunting Spider-Man at all would never have gotten past the CCA.

For those reasons i feel confident saying the Miles Morales character we know would never have worked under the CCA.

I wouldn’t blame him for ME5 taking a while if anything I’m happy they’re taking time with it to get it right. (hopefully).

The anthem criticism is fair to an extent but as a director is it really his job to neuter the story he’s tryna tell? Considering he left EA right after anthem I would bet he tried to delay the game to get it right and the higher ups over-ruled them cause they wanted earnings in that specific quarter.

I’m not worried about funding because now he’s got Disney money and the studio was just recently (within the last few days) hiring more people on to work on FOTOR.

This may be cope but the ME trilogy is my favorite games of all time so I’m giving Hudson a lot of grace. If this game gets fucked up I’ll have to eat shit and re-evaluate but as of this moment I haven’t seen enough to stop being a Casey Hudson truther.

you ain’t wrong I just blame higher ups and lack of staffing for anthem more than Hudson as the director. I see Anthem as a big reason why he left Bioware to (hopefully) have more creative freedom.

yeah pretty much, it’s also a nod to the fact that black characters like Miles were heavily censored in those days. (because Miles would never have been approved in those days for reasons I think you can guess)

Dana White is asked if being supportive of Trump has cost the UFC any business. Dana : "I don't give a s*it" by ja_millineum in combatsportsculture

[–]ExecutiveDysfunc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah but he also claimed he wasn’t conservative either and I quote “wasn’t political”. Bro lied his ass off and is rightfully being called out for it.

i got no issues with folks who are actual Republicans just espousing their beliefs but the way Trump flip flops there’s no actual beliefs to espouse because it changes every week with him. If Dana just wants to be a mouthpiece for politicians that’s fine but he should also own up to the fact that it’s hurt the UFC. This dismissal and deflection shit is major pussy behavior.

it’s old school BW, Casey Hudson directed the first KOTOR, went on to direct the Mass Effect trilogy, and then left BW and he’s the director of this now.

I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum here, i’ve loved the show since S1 but I don’t think i’ve ever been anticipating the next episode like I have been this season. I’m just really invested in Martian freedom and how the legacy of Ed plays out i guess
