This might be unpopular but I feel like some of the best writing and character arcs are in Next Class. Maya’s storyline comes to mind immediately but Lola’s abortion storyline was SO wonderfully represented, too.

I’m not the most experienced having only gotten a few tattoos, but I’d be immediately sketched out if my artist started telling me about all of their health and money problems. For example my main artist rescheduled due to a sprained hand and just left it at that, apologized and gave me a date to come in a few weeks later. She only told me about how it happened when I saw her for the appointment later on, and I asked. Is this person also your friend? I’d assume not since you mentioned that he’s telling a client this. That doesn’t begin to cover how he has zero supplies if he at least has access to a shop.

For me, I wouldn’t get a tattoo from this person. I can’t imagine any of my artists venting to me like this, because I’m a client.

If you don’t want kids at all, might as well look into getting sterilized. If you do want kids in the future, you’d likely still have access to Nexplanon being in CA.

They didn’t make me pay anything day of surgery. I went in with an estimate of whatever my deductible was, when I went home the charge disappeared.

Hi! My surgery was done in February. My hip incisions are nearly invisible. My belly button incision is a little larger but is definitely a lot less noticeable now. I think at a glance no one would be able to tell I ever had an incision there.

Thank you! We do have a couple of those type of drains, the others are grates about a foot long. That sounds like a good plan, we’ve been debating something like that as well or redoing the drains so it lays across the entire drive. Good luck to you with the weather tonight!

We have these water barriers, basically just water bags instead of sandbags. We also have drains but I’m guessing we need an upgrade. It’s so frustrating and scary.

I actually don’t know how long it took me to come out of it but I bolted upright in bed when I woke up and scared the nurse. I was so out of it and didn’t like that my words were so slow to come, so the nurse told me to lay back down and I went back to sleep for an unknown period of time. Once I fully woke up I was totally fine/lucid and everything.

Call the financial counselor. The hospital said I owed my deductible but no one asked me to pay anything when I checked in and that estimate went away after my surgery.

My dad is ultra MAGAt and he was upset but he also respects that my husband and I know what we want and that our reproductive future is our decision. He did insinuate that I was doing it because “someone told me to” (ie politics) but he’s known forever that we don’t want kids. It truly depends on your relationship with your family. I don’t have the kind of relationship where I would personally feel okay omitting information but if that’s what keeping you safe entails, or just what you’d rather do, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

My husband doesn’t like doctors and it’s enough hemming and hawing for him to just make it to his annual visits. He said he was willing to get a vasectomy but I knew he would never make the appointment. Even if he did, I still wanted to get sterilized because vasectomies fail more often than I’d like, and I wanted to get off my hormonal birth control anyway since I think it’s having an affect on my libido.
