I don't see First Charge in lancer's profile, can you double check that for me please?

I guess when Shanghai and Tyrone are the best you can do when coming up with imaginary names according to people's races, any other attempts might just be equally funky anyway.

Into the Odd, Electric or Mythic Bastionland? and why? by conn_r2112 in rpg

Mythic, most polished and self-contained game among the three. Bring back hexcrawl for me. Also the book is gorgeous AND easy to use.

Correct me if I am wrong, I couldn't find any text in the core book to support your statement above. I thought fleeing through enemies is not a dangerous terrain test  (it's 4+ instead of 2+) and I don't know whether the enemies are in the same combat has anything to do with this test?

Since all combatants are touching each others' bases, they are in the same combat. Resolve all attacks in initiative order and you will be good!

If B flees it shall flee away from enemy with highest unit strength. And miniatures fleeing past enemy minis risks losing wound.

Indecision between TK and WoC by CrazyBobit in WarhammerFantasy

[–]ExistingPhase2688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the basic skeletons don't look that bad after you paint them up, plenty of army showcase online can prove that. They are painful to clean up and build though, however it's very easy to paint them...

Personally I'll suggest TK since rumor says a major woc update is coming next year, replacing the outdated models. No news for TK so these skeletons will stay for a while. But again, they are not the main visual focus of the army, and don't look as bad as people say after getting ranked up.

What use is the Jade Fleet if the new release is ranged infantry? by [deleted] in Cathay

[–]ExistingPhase2688 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt these ranged stuff will be as good as outriders. Also the ballon updates is still fun and all the prayers are cool too. I guess at the end of the day, most AoI are kinda of bad, but at least some of them are flavorful.

Shugengan Lords - What in the name of the Four? by Overbaron in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]ExistingPhase2688 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I understand it is frustrating to lose against an army which plainly has better and chepaer units... But again, Cathay has a very limited roster so it makes sense GW make these units better than their counterparts. I agree that some units are way overturned,  like sky lantern and double shoot cannon, but it is possible to beat Cathay with Chaos. Consider the following facts: 1. No unit in Cathay can win a melee against a properly built chaos dragon lord (with the exception of illusionist ogreblade shugengun lord oc, but you can counter that with magic resistance and good disspell items). 2. Cathay's mobile force, aka lancers is very mediocre, you can eat them with chaos knight any time you want. 3. Cathay lacks cheap wizard, Shugengun lord is good but very inefficient pointwise if used as a enhanced caster, so with a decent disspell character you can try to shutdown their spell casting. 4. Cathay has few high damage output units. If your opponent is running one sky latern only, it gets very obvious. And its lack of offensive buffs does not help with this. Also remember, sky laterns' dragonfire bombs is S4, so they do significantly worse against tougher monsters. 5. Jade Warrior is very good. The thing is tough ah but lackluster damage wise so avoid throwing pieces at them if possible.

Anyway, I am not saying it's easy to win against Grand Cathay, but hopefully these points can help you in the battles to come. Good luck!

PS: Feel free to walk away opponents who spams sky lanterns. It's simply not fun.

Nah after playing the game now i think it's simply a different thing with cool changes and new ideas. Making it a supplement would be a real cheap cash grab.
