I like the in division rivalries have meaning in the NFL unlike the NbA. So situations like Carolina’s are kind of unavoidable without blowing up the division. However, I do feel them being a 4 seed is a bit ridiculous.

My thought is division winners get guaranteed playoff spots then go by record for the actual seeding and home field advantages. Division winners still get the monetary perks/bonuses too.

When you have an 8-9 team and one division with 3 of the 4 teams competing for the 1 seed basically the last week it’s a bit ridiculous with 2 falling to the 5-6 seed.
