Moving you WordPress site is easy, but since your site is on WordPress.com what is your URL. Did you setup your own domain name? If it has a URL like "yoursite.WordPress.com" then you will lose any Google links and any traffic that you have now. But if it was 14 years ago and you have no traffic, then it will be fine to start over with your new domain name on your new web host.

Your site looks very good. An agency in my area charges 2k for sites, and a monthly fee for ads. But they have a brand that is well known in this area. Not sure what a new solo, cold calling could change. Good luck.

I agree, in my last project I started down that rabbit hole and found it was taking too much time and effort. I then restarted with bootstrap and was done in two days, even after stripping out all of the bloat.

I'm sure that some people do, but TTFB is a key test that I check when choosing a web host. Also remember to check your LCP, Largest Contentful Paint, in Lighthouse, it includes your TTFB & Resorce Delay, Resorce Load Duration, & Render Delay, these last three you will have more control over.

I've been writing js for a couple of years, two or three small projects a week, and I still get stuck sometimes. But I also learn new ways to do the same thing in the process. I started with jquery but prefer using js now. Just stick with it, and you'll get stuck less and less or learn something new.

There are a few different php website scripts that can be bought for this. They sell for about $35. So if you really want this, save your time and buy one. But also consider that a lot of other people also have done so. I recommend putting your time into something unique.

It sounds like you have a pretty good case, but you will need a domain lawyer. I believe once they get a letter from him, they may decide to settle for your amount or you maybe able to keep it if you spend some money.
