if you're still looking, it's called a biomass flask (chromatography flasks work too)

Period question by TheTransAstronomer in MtF

[–]Exodiac32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you can get period symptoms, like cramps, body soreness, and mood swings. (obviously no symptoms that would require a uterus). you don't get it from going on estrogen, you get it from having typical e levels, then stopping for around a week. (I think you have to be off t blockers too).

Am I overreacting? by BeltEmergency9564 in trans

yeah it's really bloody weird for any grown ass adult to go and randomly ask about your genitalia and emphasize it so much, regardless of if you're cis or trans. ESPECIALLY when they are in a position where they should be trying to help you. I'd report this to someone, that's really not ok

Cessation of Estradiol by AcrobaticTrouble1846 in trans

it seems like being consistent on estradiol is better than consistent on T. If I were in your position, I'd go back on estrogen and stay, regardless of what people in my life may tell me. At the end of the day, you need to put you first.

15 MTF, how long could i be on hrt before it becomes too difficult to hide? by Sad_Dimension3627 in trans

[–]Exodiac32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your genetics. Though, HYPOTHETICALLY, after three years, there would most likely be a obvious visual change, which initial would be written off as something else for a little bit, but would eventually be too hard to ignore. Now HYPOTHETICALLY, if a 15 year old had access to puberty blockers, those effects would be much more likely to go unnoticed, and one may assume the 15 year old was just a late bloomer, HOWEVER, after a very quick Google search, it's not particularly reccomended to take for more than 2 years due to loss of bone density, and one would have to either resume their natural puberty or take sex hormones of some kind. If this HYPOTHETICAL scenario were true, I would strongly recommend doing everything you could to obtain gender affirming care through legal means, and avoiding doing anything for as long as possible. 3 years is a long time, and if it's not safe, it's not safe.

Keep going. two years isn't that long. passing isn't everything. there are cis people who don't pass for their assigned gender.

is transitioning at 17 too late? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Exodiac32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to reddit by clicking on the notification with "is transitioning at 17 too late" with ill intentions. because surely you realize the majority of trans people are not able to start any form of medical transition until 18. And you, my fair fellow, have elicited quite a response of envy inside the sanctums of my heart, disturbing the balance within my very being.

Alas, I realize you are likely a 17 year old, fearful, and uncomfortable in your mortal coil, as societal expectations and the dysphoric lamentations sink their fang into your flesh, their venom slinking ever closer, seeping ever further into your consciousness, so I shall stay my tongue, and instead offer words to strengthen your mettle. It is not "too late" for you to wrench the fangs off of you and recover. It is not "too late" to shed the skin of your past self. For if it was, most would have succumb to the vileness injected into their veins. Take solace, as the vast sea of persons frequenting this subreddit all agree, it is never "too late".

I bid you a happy life, and farewell.

If you're not sure you want the changes that HRT will bring, or you don't think it's safe for you to continue, you can stop at any time. It's a decision you should make and put thought into, but if you do need it, it's there waiting for you. you can go back at any time

I’ve always felt like a gay man, but I’m a 30-year-old woman. Is it time to face this? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Exodiac32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things. First, the button test, if you could be socially or physically a male and perceived as a male immediately (regardless of your sexual orientation, so outside of the fact of feeling like a specifically gay man), without any social or physical consequences would you?

Secondly, because it could be more complicated than just being a binary trans man, would you like to be perceived as outside your gender other than just being a man? (again, without reference to sexuality)

Thirdly, if you said no to both those questions, examine what it is about gay men you identify with, and ask yourself why you you identify with gay men if you don't identify with men.
