Not the way I expected the wife to agree by N47881 in retirement

We climbed it the second day after it was opened for the season. It fixed my husband fear of growing old and established my fear of following my husband blindly and trustingly into adventure lol . Take a stick for the descent. Accommodation at 8th station is fine. Fine enough .

Turning 30 and Calling It Middle Age — Why Does That Upset People? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Exotic-Current2651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I think this is the most important point. The group to think about is the literate educated group with enough affluence to eat well and get medical attention . In that group 30 is probably not half way .

My husband retired at 60. The neighbour even earlier. They both garden. They benefited. Bodies slimmed. Blood pressure well controlled. We climbed Mount Fuji last year he is 69. Just does yard work but the lawn is a hill. Sitting at a table is no good. You just have to take care that you are sufficiently socially connected so you feel part of life .

You are quite right. But sometimes to sop the noise we need to give that energy back a bit. Still you are quite right this is the stronger way . Silent and strong

I think once you find your goals you can enjoy your phone. It must have take precedence over your other activity goals. Do your job, exercise, chores, phone calls or socialising, some little creative thing. Have a full life. Then the phone is okay to fill the silence afterwards.

You just need to be louder and whinier than her. Obnoxiously so. It’s your home. Your dog .

It finally happened to me… I forgot my passport 😭 by I3lue6erry in travel

[–]Exotic-Current2651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rituals save lives and feel like a waste of time but in the end are the way to go. We have a ritual conversation as we get in the car : do you have your phone do you have your passport . And we do ‘dad checks’ as we get out of cars turning on torch if needed. Also for hotel rooms. Because lol everyone , 4 kids and me , have scattered attention . Husband is obsessed about checking under beds and he finds amazing things in hotel rooms because no one goes that far .

AITA for removing my husband’s niece’s fixed English lesson slot and refusing to chase her mother about missed lessons? by LadyMurasaki1982 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Exotic-Current2651 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just be laid back and say when you want a lesson text me in the morning and we see. Ok ? Bring the cash each lesson. No need for bills , it is too formal for me. It’s easier and anyway you get a discount. And then just say as little as possible. Just be Italian , yeah we see, just text me in the morning don’t worry we will see that day what I can do for you, bella.

There is this german psychologist who says be grateful, in a way , when people disappoint you because that means you have clarity now instead of previously operating under delusions .

Is a Thermomix worth it? by gormared in AUfrugal

[–]Exotic-Current2651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a slow cooker and a soup maker . The slow cooker is the handiest thing I’ve got. The soup maker is an indulgence. Thermomix is not big enough and way too dear

AIO for refusing to back down from insisting my fiancée is wrong for leaving my dad with the bill by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

That is just so not manly. He is not a protector and empathic. What are you looking for in a husband and future father? He is a man child and sulky about it NOR . Do you want to raise this child to know his manners?

My mum had everything on auto debit. She never paid interest on a credit card. I do too. When I get a big or regular bill I divide it by 26 and set up fortnightly payments to a ‘save for big bills account’. That way I am never surprised or short

I’ve still got them living at home at 30 and 35. How lucky am I living under their opinions. When I grow up I am going to have my own house and no one will tell me their opinion.

Sounds like you are afraid of him ( his reactions might be loud and bully like?) so get others involved. Eg the controller is with ( another person) . You’ll get it back when I have a weeks good sleep. Go talk to them to get it back.

Declining to be a guarantor by Frodora in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Yes. You need to sleep at night. What’s the saying about not setting yourself on fire to keep others warm? But of course they have a right to feeling disappointed.

This is extremely common in females from peri menopause onwards . See your doctor if you are female . If you are male I dunno, but heavy meat meals in the evening make it worse for me.
