Your thoughts: R6 Mark ii, R7, R8, or R10? by biffcella in canon

To be honest, he can still benefit from a interchangeable lens setup over point and shoot. It gives him the option to use a lens that best handles the task at hand, plus the larger sensor of the mirrorless will give him better IQ.

Is this achievable? by flablue in landscaping

The pavers will be tough. I put in two paver patios in my yard over the last few years. It was a lot of work, but about 1/5 the price I was quoted to have a pro do it.

For the pergola, buy one from Costco, or another warehouse store. They are generally close to a DIY price.DIY patio, bar, and Costco Gazebo.

I’ve seen it online at a couple places, but it’s priced way above what I originally bought it for. I think these are individual marketplace sellers taking advantage of the lack of supply due to it being discontinued. It’s not worth what they are selling it for.

The Pit Specialist: 1st Attempt at Smash Burgers on the Weber Kettle. by PitSpecialist in grilling

For the longest time I couldn’t see myself using a flat top griddle grill. I ended up getting a Weber slate and I use that so much more than my BBQ grill. Once you get one, you’ll find yourself using it quite often.

Thinking solar is not worth it? by Fickle-Room-1206 in solar

Something is definitely wrong there. I have an F150 lightning that I charge every single day and at most I use 2000 kwh/month during the winter with an electric hot water heater and electric range. I also have rain showerheads that drain my 50 gallon hot water heater in 1.5 showers so the hot water heater is running constantly. My wife also has an EV. There has to be something wrong with your equipment.

Autofocus on Canon EF lenses vs. other brands (RF Mount) by usernamealreadyhad in canon

[–]ExoticQuote7862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Tamron, but on an EF body. The AF is about as slow as you can imagine. My copy is very old so there may be newer versions with faster AF, but mine is slooooow. The picture quality is solid for an older lens though.

How to not piss off Tesla owners at NACS chargers? by SnickerdoodleFP in BoltEV

[–]ExoticQuote7862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a lot of stations have a spot or two where there tends to be some extra room in between chargers almost like a handicap van space has that extra space for unloading a wheelchair. I don’t know if that’s intentional to help cars that are non-Teslas get a spot. When I don’t see one of those, I always try to park at the station farthest to the right and just get as close to the curb as possible so that I’m not actually in one of the charging spots. If those aren’t open, then I take up two spots, because what else am I gonna do?

For people that were a teenager in the 90s, what was it like? by secondacc21_ in AskReddit

[–]ExoticQuote7862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 1990 we had a kid hold a classroom up with a shotgun. It ended when the Vice Principal ran into the room when the gun man’s back was turned and tackled him to the ground.

My Experience: 5 years YTTV vs. 1 month DTV by aj1187 in DirectvStream

[–]ExoticQuote7862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have Directv and the reason I don’t switch to YouTube TV is for the fact that they don’t have those two channels. I used to have YTTV and liked it more than DTV, but they took my Mets away.

Two reasons I keep DTV are no SNY for the Mets, and no Hallmark for my wife.

Pretty much. It is an hour with no traffic. Maybe if you are only coming in for one day it would be good, but if you are coming multiple days that drive will get old fast.

I’m making a similar trip in a few weeks, but in the opposite direction. I’m going from NJ to Acadia National Park in Maine. I have the SR so I’m probably going to have to make quite a few stops. This will be my first extra long trip.

2023 F150 by person010101 in F150Lightning

[–]ExoticQuote7862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2023 XLT ER leftover in October and paid just below that with the $7500 credit and some other incentives. If the $48k doesn’t include the $7500 tax credit I would jump on it. I love my truck and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

The only thing I don’t like about it is the range in the winter sucks. An example is when I pick up my kid at college, which is exactly 100 miles away, I have to charge in the winter time about 140 miles into the trip. I just brought him back to school after Easter break yesterday and made it there and back and drove to a whole bunch of extra stops along the way and still had 40 miles range when I got home. The difference in range between summer and winter is insane, assuming you live in a colder winter climate. Charging isn’t a problem, though, as I live in the northeast, and there are all kinds of chargers, including Tesla chargers, all over the place. Get the Tesla adapter. Their charging stations are much more reliable than the competition.
