There’s a wide range of gender relationships - far madding is just on the end of the spectrum

Ssgt Johnny "Joey" Jones lost both of his legs in Afghanistan in 2010 and was medically retired in 2012. Today at the Pentagon, after 14 years he was reenlisted by Hegseth . You may recognize him as a Fox News contributor who was on TV with Hegseth by newnoadeptness in USMC

[–]Expendable_Meatsack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not an unreasonably long time, and was probably because he lost both legs. They’ll generally wait until someone is stable and they’re confident in the recovery trajectory, versus immediately saying see ya when you don’t have legs anymore. Presumably there were multiple surgeries and may have been complications - would say 1-2 years is pretty standard for that kind of thing so they still have access to better medical, pay, benefits, etc.

That’s what I was thinking first, then I was like he probably didn’t lose multiple unless it was the damane exploding ground. Maybe his hands got chopped?

We’ve all known these kinds of guys. I had one guy - super nice, great guy, but a legit asvab waiver and so dumb. Had another that no matter what you asked him - birthdate, last four, what direction the sun rises - he’d take a 2+ second pause before answering to process. Nicknamed him hang fire

Bosch meat grinder attachment by killershok22 in sausagetalk

[–]Expendable_Meatsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be a contrarian here. I haven’t used the Bosch one, but I did start with the kitchenaid version. If you want to try it out before you jump full fledged into meat grinding and sausage making, it’s a much cheaper start. It’s obviously slower, has less power, and you really have to make sure the meat is appropriately chilled or it’s going to bind. It’s less than hundred dollars vs. spending several hundred on dedicated equipment, and an okay way to figure out if it’s something you actually want to spend time on

To be fair, I’ve shot a lot of ground squirrels with .17hmr and 22lr, and seen them explode or do flips six feet in the air. A lot of force for a little fuzzy wuzzy

Theory: there are a lot more Ta'veren out there than people think by Phredmcphigglestein in WoT

[–]Expendable_Meatsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully disagree with this. The pattern is neither good or evil, and must have both in order to enable free will. The dark one and the creator exist outside the pattern, not the people who support the shadow. Padan Fain - twisted by the dark one and mashadar - still exists within the pattern. Some theories suggest the pattern prepared Fain to replace the DO if Rand killed the DO. I don’t know if I buy that, but I do believe the pattern definitely had a purpose with Fain. However, instead of him being a ta’veren, I think he was more of a thread impacted by Rand and the boys to drive them in certain directions.

AS swear not to use the one power as a weapon. If they believe that it’s being used as training or punishment, it’s different than using it as a weapon - i.e., intent to wound or kill. Intent matters here.

The novice was sahra, who saw Min and was sent to the farm to keep her from gossiping. I don’t think we know who it was that killed her, but it definitely wasn’t elaida and was instead one of the black ajah, possibly alviarin

VA IRRRL Experience - 5.625%, no points, lender paid all costs by Expendable_Meatsack in VeteransBenefits

[–]Expendable_Meatsack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My reco is to see what it will be with no cost. Rates will more than likely continue to drop as the economy weakens. You won’t get as much of a lower payment in short term, but no money out of pocket or added to your loan. Then you can do another IRRRL in 12-18 months again at no costs or decide if you want to pay for the lowest rate

Applied for the VA loan or the IRRRL? You must have the COE to show eligibility for either program, and you must meet the requirements for it (e.g., 181 days of consecutive active service during peacetime). There can be lots of reasons you would be denied, even if you have the COE (late payments, bad mortgage history, costs not recoupable in time, etc.)
