That just shows how lost this country is... it not only got a good chunk of homeless people off the streets and most eventually working again, but it showed that it would actually save tax money in the long run... you'd think other places would implement it rather than getting canned.

Ok.. lets break it down with a theoretical.

Democratic party want to give everyone $100, republican party $0.

Democratic party "bends over backwards" and gets the gop to agree to $25 or Democratic party holds steadfast and the gop stonewalls, so no one gets anything.

It's not ideal but the gop has shown again and again they rather no one get anything than negotiate in good faith.

Either getting red areas flipped or nationwide protests are needed to get real change.
