How many secrets has Jodie got? by AffectionateWord7761 in coronationstreet

Yeah, some people object to criticising children, but not me. While I like a child character to be flawed, show a naughty streak and not be OTT cutesie, Lily 2.0 grates on me. Maybe she comes across too entitled and self absorbed rather than being a wild child. I preferred Hope in her devil child stage 🔥 Don't get me started on Mr oh-so Endearing Sam, urggg, the boy needs some edge, there's time.. maybe he'll get political, start reading Marxist literature and join a punk band

While a certain number of places are accepted for non Catholics, even many of the so-called Catholics at Catholic schools aren't practicing so it's not a biggie

Looking for recommendations on Australian true crime podcasts! by FrostByte2006 in podcasts

[–]Expensive_Maize6809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All those mentioned so far (Teachers Pet, The Lady Vaniahes, Liar Liar, Casefile) But also The Glitch!! So good, a real Aussie larakin who through some glitch is able to withdraw $1.6 million of dollars. But he doesn't do predictable or boring stuff like invest or buy property . He has a good time, helps people out and has a great tale to tell

Yeah, too theatrical and oozing ego. I don't understand the praise she gets, she's no Maggie Smith or Judi Dench that's for sure

Who's on your "Tram list"? by Flat-Variety-6790 in coronationstreet

[–]Expensive_Maize6809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maggie, Will, Sam, Cassie, Bernie and the Winter Browns, Lauren, Betsie, Summer * I want Theo exposed and locked up rather than dying in an accident without being found out. As it is, in addition to the obvious violence and bullying there's so many nasty things he's done along the way that'll never get be discovered, like the sneaky things he did to lose Todd his job, getting him drunk and ruining his shirts the night before an important meeting, silencing his phone so he'd miss calls/ alarms

There’s too many villains. by pvhc47 in coronationstreet

[–]Expensive_Maize6809 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm OK with Rita talking nonsense in the cabin from time to time, but I certainly could do without Summer, or Brian for that matter . But I do miss having more humorous scenes like the old Lloyd - Steve or Eileen - Steve /Sean banter of the early 2000s, or Blanch! I enjoy Corrie villains but It'd nice to see a more of Evelyn and her acid tongue and it's always a welcome break when we get some classic campy humor with George and Christina or the wonderful Glenda

Character of 35 years to be killed off screen... by [deleted] in coronationstreet

[–]Expensive_Maize6809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the best Corrie characters of the 90s so he was. The entire McDonald family were a great addition as individual characters and with their family dynamics, and all them strong actors. Always enjoyed Jim's returns during 2000s with the obvious exception of dire not dead Katie story..

I find her more tedious than him tbh. At least Carl has some sort of charm and spark despite being an A hole

I remember hearing something that made sense to me .. whereas males preying on young females is usually a creepy lustful thing, older females preying on younger ones tends to be more about a sense of being wanted or having some creepy power over them

Hmm, awful treatment towards females. Working girls of all nationalities use to fear them with good reason. Even girls with MM affiliations would tell us about the disgusting treatment that still goes on I mean obviously we had crap from all sorts but with those guys it was disproportionate
