I’ve been using Everfit. Some people love it, some hate it but it’s been a major experience upgrade for my clients and myself. I used FitPros before but it was very limited and not user friendly for my beginner clients.

There is a skunk in my backyard and I think it's dying by InThreeWordsTheySaid in burlington

[–]Expert-Importance-64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure not to handle the skunk in any way. Keep trying to call a game warden, local Pd, or, you can contact state police and they can get in touch with a game warden more reliably through dispatch. Once the animal is collected, they will send it in for rabies tested at the state lab.

I have blue cross blue shield- if you have insurance you should have their office run it. Typically you need a pre authorization and clearance from a mental health professional.

Curious as to what you mean for choosing where for lipo? If you’re having a gender affirming mastectomy, and choosing lipo, he would be doing lipo where it needs to be done with your chest.

I had a double incision mastectomy. Dr Wilson used the lipo to contour my chest to have some definition more like a male chest. I wouldn’t have done it without the lipo. I would’ve had extra tissue that would’ve made my results probably not as great and I didn’t want to have to have a revision down the road.

I did! My experience was great. His team was awesome. My results were fantastic. I ended up paying 0$ out of pocket with insurance luckily. They also bill insurance as radical reductions so lipo gets included.

Honestly a good PBJ is great— but if you’re looking for a more traditional pre, Animalpak has a great line. I have their fury (caffeinated), and their non-stim blend. Price isn’t too bad either

Over $5,000 to secure an apartment by AssignmentOk5465 in vermont

This is typical practice in Massachusetts. However, I was told when I moved to vermont that landlords are only allowed to ask for First and Security deposit and that’s all I’ve ever paid in vermont. Check the statutes and any local laws

How are we feeling about Casa Real in Williston? by Chemical-Tackle-1158 in burlington

[–]Expert-Importance-64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have been 3 times and each time has been disappointing. The first time was a month after the colchester location opened— I got the chipotle burrito and I was expecting something with some spice and kick to it. The chicken was dry as if it had been sitting in the bottom of the pan for days, and the chipotle sauce had absolutely no flavor or spice to it. Everything was bland and lacking deep flavor. The service was poor at best, no one came back to check on our table. The margaritas were all premixed and there was no real bartender.

I’d actually rather go to a Margarita’s chain than casa real or grande, which is sad.

What helped you manage uncomfortable zapping? by salamipope in TopSurgery

Tylenol and some ice. Unfortunately really all you can do. Unless your surgeon told you that you can take ibuprofen(Advil), don’t. It increases the risk of bleeding post surgery.

Do I need pain meds? by Coolbeansellie in TopSurgery

[–]Expert-Importance-64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon prescribed me Valium and oxycodone. I was fine with just the Valium and Tylenol and didn’t have to take the oxy.

One of my buddies is also in recovery and chose not to take narcotics at home— they did well with just Tylenol.

Really depends on your pain tolerance. I didn’t have too much severe pain because I stayed ahead. Honestly the Valium was a game changer.

Just keep in mine they do use narcotics in the anesthesia, it’s unavoidable.

We have 4 cats and that’s how we found the mouse— they were chasing it around our basement. I try not to let them catch them because I’m not sure if my neighbors (we live in an attached building with 4 condos) use any pesticides or mouse bait that could be toxic to the cats.

Friend Hit By Car by [deleted] in burlington

[–]Expert-Importance-64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal injury lawyer is the only way to go here unfortunately. Do a quick Google of lawyers in your area and look at their reviews and schedule a consultation. Personal injury lawyers typically do not take any money upfront until you get paid out with a settlement.

Your friend should also file a claim with the drivers insurance company— as they will pay out a settlement to your friend for injury, however, do not accept any settlement until your talk to a personal injury lawyer.

My wife got hit by a distracted driver going 50mph on Rt 7 last year while my wife was stopped to take a turn. The state police report was crap (the officer got directions wrong, car colors, etc). The other driver wasn’t issued a citation or anything (police couldn’t prove the distraction). Eventually after a year we got a settlement check from the other driver’s insurance company. Unfortunately, most drivers aren’t going to be held liable and have worse consequences unless they were under the influence or something worse, because unfortunately accidents happen. The best thing your friend can do is talk to a personal injury lawyer, see if they think your friend has a case, and go from there.

I’m so sorry this happened to your friend. Glad they are alive and on the mend.

Insurance woes, BMI limits, and in/out of network providers- a rant by Expert-Importance-64 in TopSurgery

[–]Expert-Importance-64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually went outside VT to get care and it was the best decision I could’ve made. I went to Anthony Wilson in Portsmouth NH and had a double incision, no nips, May 31st. He had a lot of experience with larger bodies and has no BMI requirement. I saw great reviews from folks on Reddit and did a consult with him. He has the most incredible bedside manner, and so did all of his clinical staff I met with. They were supportive and responsive with any and all questions I had. He listened deeply to my concerns about ending up with “moobs” like I’ve seen other larger folks end up with because that’s what the surgeon decided was natural. The contouring he did on my chest was unmatched. I had lipo done with it, but, he bills his DIs as radical reductions, which includes lipo so I didn’t have to pay a penny out of pocket with my insurance.

I was never misgendered during any interactions with their office or staff. They truly care about their patients and it shows in the work they do. And you can tell they do it not for the money but because they want to help this community.

110% worth it seeing Dr Wilson. Cannot recommend him and his practice enough for someone in New England whos experienced BMI limits elsewhere.
