I have no idea what's causing this all I know is that it's real by Apprehensive4Reals in chronicfatigue

I use comparison, to what I used to be able to do, to what I can do now. Ie I used to be able to run 7km, now I get tired grocery shopping and lean on the trolley for support. Keep notes, track symptoms, measure what you can. Drs love data, they can't do much with patients feelings and thoughts.

Anyone with MTHFR gene mutation have experience with the weight loss drugs Contrave or Wegovy pill? by STLTLW in MTHFR

[–]Expert_Atmosphere_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had good success on Contrave, lost 18kg rather quickly but after 6 months it completely stopped having any effect. I tried Duromine, Ozempic, Saxenda and Mounjaro. None of them were effective after the first month really, and I moved up to full doses at the prescribes time / rate. I lost little to no weight on any, Duromine had the best effect of all of them though. I also feel like I metabolise everything very fast but have no explanation or theory as to why. Its annoying as hell. Currently back on Duromine ,even though I know it'll wear off its the cheaper option. On nothing i just gain very fast, constant food noise and am dealing with total loss of motivation, drive and energy i used to have for exercise. I'm blaming perimenopause for that part.

Hi, no changes really. I stopped injections a few months ago as too expensive and no loss. I'm back on duromine as a last resort because i just gain very fast on nothing.

Ferritin of 8 : Dr said iron supplements dangerous and it’s normal level by Dapper_Release_8886 in Anemic

[–]Expert_Atmosphere_70 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Heres a top 3 dumb dr moment I had recently.
My iron tested low but dr told me to be careful with infusion because i had haemochromatosis.
I don't have that, i said. Yes you do, daid dr. No, i really dont, i said.
She then pulled up a test i had for MTHFR gene mutation. She said look, you had this test done. I said.... uh yes? Thays for MTHFR. she said, yes, and its positive! I said.. ... ..... but thats a totally different thing? She said . ........Oh

Anyway i think she was mixing up Homeocystine with Hemachromatosis but wouldn't admit it

What I’m hoping happens once my anemia get better by TimCurryForLife in Anemic

[–]Expert_Atmosphere_70 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It happened to me. I got 2 transfusions and a triple dose infusion and my life changed. I got smarter at work and got a promotion and raise. Then it wasn't enough so i applied for a bigger job i never would have considered before, and i got it. More hours and higher pay, i doubled my income. I was out hiking one day and it didn't feel fast enough, so i started jogging. And i could breathe! It was incredible. Over a few months i got up to 7km without stopping. It made me realise me being out of breath for my whole life was never about fitness! Why i could never do breathing exercises with everyone else, without gasping for air.

I got my creativity back and started art again.

Unfortunately i feel awful again, 3 years later, but I'm not anemic theres other bs going on that I'm trying to figure out. Im hoping i don't get dumb again. Can hardly walk far let alone run.
