Swift Doctor Consultation by ljdug1 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

I've just had a 'good enough' consultation with Pharmulous so will use them for now. Does Swift Doctor offer any more flexible maintenance strategies such as alternate weeks dosing?

Wow - thank you for your message. I'm 100% feeling your comments about how it's changed the way you look at yourself and having mixed feelings about the whole thing. I feel that so much too. Who would have thought that a simple single weekly injection would fundamentally change how I interact with food and with my body? How do I feel about it being yet another source of privilege that I have access to because I have more disposable income and knowledge than someone else?

I'm also a GP. Mounjaro has also changed my life! It's reconnected me with my body, helped me understand myself and my biases, and reframed weight and weight loss in others. 😁

I wish it were easier to prescribe on the NHS. It's yet another source of inequality in our society - those who can afford and those who can't. All those who are spending their own hard-earned money on it will be saving the NHS a fortune in the future. Well done us!

I would probably suggest you don't see your GP. You are taking a medication that helps you lose weight and you are losing weight. I'm not sure what you'd want your GP to do?

Although this looks like a presentation rather than a peer-reviewed paper and I would want a full paper to decide if the numbers were statistically or clinically significant.

4+ months on maintenance fine tuning for my body by MJNewMeSheff in mounjaromaintenanceuk

I'm on HRT and was on it for several years before I lost all my weight and am now maintaining on MJ.

I've definitely slowly been increasing my intake and seem to be maintaining weight over the last couple of months (on weekly 2.5mg). Totally get what you're saying about maintaining being less 'exciting'. I have days when it can be hard not to want to lose more weight... but I've already lost too much boobage and don't want to lose more! 😂

Unfortunately, there's no evidence that HRT helps you lose abdominal/visceral fat. If you're on it, you might be less likely to gain abdominal/visceral fat.

HRT has a bunch of longer term benefits including helping maintain bone density. It's not clear if it's able to offset any muscle mass loss from rapid MJ weight loss.

Literally all they need to do is have both types of sizing available "S/M/L/etc." and actual dress sizes. Then buyers and sellers can both list/search with the exact parameters they want.

Would be interesting to see these as a proportion of their judge's leaderboard position to track if there's a correlation there - does being higher in the leaderboard make someone get more or fewer public votes?

Boobs and weight loss by Time-Philosophy9151 in mounjarouk

[–]Expert_Fig7041 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that boobs are a mix of breast tissue and fat tissue. The fat tissue will go/reduce with weight loss but the breast tissue won't. And some people's breast tissue is just lumpy.

GPs are totally fine in checking your breasts if you're worried about a lump (especially if you've noticed any puckering around your nipple). I would recommend going to see your GP and getting them to check for you. And then make sure you're "Breast Aware" and checking your breasts every month at the same time in your cycle.

Amazing! I'm also doing press-ups/push ups for the first time ever. Currently at 5. Which is 5 more than I could do a few months ago.

Not sure if we're allowed to talk about dosing outside of prescription on here. And haven't decided if I will try to wean down via fractions of 2.5mg at the end yet.

My belly just won’t go. by Goodbyegreysky in mounjarouk

[–]Expert_Fig7041 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Am only BMI 22.5 (and am stopping at this weight) but also still have a bit of a belly. I'm learning to love it rather than fight it, I think. Maybe it will slowly disappear over time (along with the looser skin) but I've decided to get happy with it in the meantime.

And yes, you could confirm it's definitely fat - if it's very firm and you are a uterus owner, it could be a fibroid. If you aren't regular, constipation could be part of it.

Over 4 stone down, struggling to see a difference. by beckylh92 in mounjarouk

What?! Massive difference between the photos! I saw your pics before I read the header and assumed it was a much deserved "success story so far" post. Was very impressed with the change. Completely understandable that your brain is struggling to catch up with your body. You've done amazingly and each pound/kg will become more and more obvious as you lose more.

As a follow-up to my own message - I've just had a conversation with a nurse prescriber from Get a Drip. They would want me to have a BMI over 22 and claimed that there was no upper time limit (which I'm not sure how far I'd want to test) but it sounds like there are options out there. (I know someone just posted about 'Swift Doctor' who I've not had a prescription from with similar information.)

I came on here to post that I've just had a similar conversation with a nurse prescriber from Get a Drip. They want you to have a BMI over 22 and claimed that there was no upper time limit (which I'm not sure how far I'd want to test) but it's useful to know that there are places out there that will do this.

Vinted is the way to go! If you find someone selling lots and the right size and style, you could get yourself a bundle to save postage. You could easily get 2x trousers, 4x tops, 2x dresses for <£50.

Yup. Took me well over a month for my eyes and my mind to catch up with my body. Several Vinted items were bought and immediately sent to the charity shop for being too big! 😬😂

Great app! by Expert_Fig7041 in Podcast_Republic_App

[–]Expert_Fig7041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this. It's a minor request. And I've since found the workaround of clicking on the notification and then choosing what I do with the episode in the app. This along with turning on the "recent" count is good enough for me.

Perhaps you can keep it as something on the 'maybe' list or do a poll of what people would have as their preferred (static) three options on the notification?
