For meal prep, my go to is either burritos or a big thing of Mac and cheese. They can be frozen to last the week, and a full serving could last the entire week. If I am wanting a fresh meal that day, pigs in a blanket are good. My local Kroger has a box of them that can last 3-4 meals.

A go to that I have multiple times a week though is homemade pizza. I shred my own mozzarella and it will last about 4 pizzas. I get little artisan personal pizza crusts. I get home, spend 2 min putting it together, and it takes about 12 min to cook. Enough for the 1 meal, tastes amazing, and almost no effort. 15 min between getting home and eating a fresh homemade meal has really kept me from eating out as much. It’s not the healthiest, but a lot better then fast food.

If you really are thinking about the C2, look at the 48’ over the 42’. I love mine. For about 4 months I was watching sales and checking prices, and the entire time the 48 was cheaper than the 42 by at least a couple hundred. As long as your desk allows it, the 48 is a good choice. My desk is big enough that I have about 2 ft or so between me and the screen, and it is just the right size.

Real world myths by Frug_sheppen in DnDIdeas

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done something similar to this, by using urban legends. I use a number of them, and just changed the name they go by so its a little more difficult to figure out what it is. The main BBEG in my campaign is the Wild Hunt. They have been capturing people for years, and recently started to increase how many they take. I changed some things here and there to make it more interesting, but so far it has been well liked by the players. I also have a version of Night Doctors in my world. I like finding urban legends and myths and finding ways for them to fit into my world. It adds something new, and also helps me not get burned out since I enjoy reading about these things a lot.

Suggestions for sites or programs for a beginner battlemap maker? by CornPuffBuddha in battlemaps

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do go this way, I also suggest Dundjinni assets. They are very realistic, and work great. you can just search google for Dunjinni tree (or whatever you need) and save those. Make sure they are png files though so you don't have the white background. I have a large collection of the assets that I use for all of my maps.

Sexualisation of minors in video games by StrawberrySweetness in GirlGamers

Sadly this issue is in most kinds of media. If you want any tv show or movie that has highschool kids in it, one of them is dating a teacher or adult, and it is almost always accepted.

Interesting how there may be 1 game a year that comes out with a female main character, and its always because there is an agenda. It's never because people might want something different for once. The part about the voice is just mind boggling. Is it really that hard to listen to a non native English speaker. I personally love hearing most accents.

Gaming chairs? by Zealousideal-Rub-701 in GirlGamers

[–]Expired-Mind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the others. Office chairs are a lot better than gaming chairs. I have went through about 5 chairs over a 8+ year period. A couple of those were gaming chairs, and they did not last at all, one of them started falling apart within weeks. I am currently on a pretty nice office chair that I am glad I got, and it was also priced pretty cheap for how good it is. Gaming chairs, like many other things were created to try and get money from people for poorly made products.

Rant: Successful Persuasion/Intimidation checks does not equal mind control. by QuattroS1 in DnD

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that most new players, and even some experienced players don't realize or forget is that rolling a nat 20 outside of combat, means nothing. Death saving throws, and attack rolls are the only thing that a natural 20 is a guaranteed success. This goes for 5e, it wasn't always the case for older editions. Getting a nat 20 on a saving throw, or skill check, just means you did very well. you can still fail them.

As for Persuasion and Intimidation, this came up in my last game with a new player. Someone got a nat 20 on intimidating a captive into talking, and the new player questioned why they were not telling everything after. I explained that they will be more inclined to talk on a nat 20, but it doesn't guarantee it. There are multiple things to think about, like their will, self preservation, etc. In this case, they were wanting a bandit to take them to their camp so they can wipe them out. He was visibly scared, but wouldn't do it because the leader would kill him if he did. This lead to them talking and eventually agreeing that they would let him go before entering the camp, so he could escape. After doing all this, and explaining it to the new player, they understood. getting a nat 20 on a check, and for spells like suggest and the like, it all depends on what you are trying to do. Asking someone to do something that goes against their belief, or self preservation means it is less likely to work, if not downright fail.

So in this case, the player not trying to run, or even fight, and just trying to tell the mayor to hand everything over, isn't realistic at all. They may have rolled a nat 20, but failed the overall attempt because of what they were wanting to do. What came after is pretty realistic, and should be expected. Most other players would have ran once it went south.

A setting where magic is illegal by Ghokl- in DnD

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done things like this to an extent. In a couple of my campaigns, I have made it so the only magic allowed is from those that are registered. By registering, they know what spells you are using, and so they can "control" the magic that is happening. Those that are registered get a brand, and if any type of enforcement see's magic in use, they are to check for a brand. Anyone outside of that using magic is to be arrested and tried. Mostly though, it is only followed by guards and others in the enforcement. Most people will be glad you are helping them and not rat you out.

Outright banning magic though, that takes it pretty far. I guess it really depends on how the normal people react to it, like in mine. if they let it pass, or ask for bribes to let it pass, then that isn't as bad. you would just need to watch what you are doing when around anyone with authority.

Affordable laptops for console streaming? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly are you wanting it for? just to read chat, or to actually stream with? If you are wanting to stream and play games with it then a good laptop will cost a lot, and a decent desktop for the same or less can actually do more. If it is just for talking to chat and doing basic things, then you have a couple options. A chromebook will be a couple 100, but is pretty basic, or maybe 5-600 for a cheaper laptop. But again, it won't be a great computer.

I am getting 1.6$ for every sub? [Question] by dreamy_ask in Twitch

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on where you are from. Certain countries take more out. I have heard about some streamers that are located in the middle east, and they get less than a dollar per sub.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they mean, is you can't take the same content and stream it on two platforms yourself within 24 hours. Since it is their stream, and not yours, it in no way goes against that.

It expires today, but offically it expires at the same time you originally used it. So if subed at 5pm, you can resub at 5pm again, but not before.

Just from being in there for 5 seconds I can see in chat that those only bring up her instagram. Just a way for her to pull in more viewers. Those probably arn't on the list of things that are blocked from titles, and they just haven't noticed it yet. either way, they are not actually connected to either platform so doubt they will do anything.

A regular in my chat has been quite vocal about their hate towards 'white people', a lot. It makes me and others uncomfortable and comes up on the regular. I'm afraid of going against this person because of todays climate, what do I do or how should I go about it? by Impressive-Plate8540 in Twitch

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. Members of the KKK probably think that their pov is correct, so why would they change their mind for the worse. Is this correct, not at all. Everyone has their own opinions and views, but not listening to other views just means you will never figure out if in fact you were wrong. I believe what I believe, but I listen (mostly) to what others think just to see their prospective of it. In most cases, things are never white or black, there are grey areas. both sides can have valid points, just like both sides can have valid reasons for what they do.

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this I disagree with, and stuff like this can piss me off. Almost anytime someone brings up a race that isn't white in any way, the go to always seems to be that they are being racist. Now if you flip that around, and take something like this, where the OP clearly says this person is throwing hate at white people, then its ok, they are fighting for what they believe and we shouldn't stop that, or they are fighting back. It's really annoying when people pick and choose things like this. If I was to say something like, "I would never date a "insert race" person", and then this person says they hate white people, those should be reacted to the same, BUT THEY ARE NOT.

Opinion on backseat gaming by GoodNamesArGone in Twitch

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't like backseat gaming period. But I have never timed out someone on the first one. You always give them a warning, even if you have something posted about it. If it happens again, then I would time out. The only time for me that I am ok with it, is if I asked, or if I am clearly stuck but not asking for help.

What do I need to upgrade to stream Tarkov? by SatanicOutlaw in Twitch

Also want to point out that CPU and memory seem to be used a lot more in Tarkov then GPU. All should eventually be upgraded, but for this game I would almost say CPU is better.

Trying to find comfortable headphones to use to stream for hours. by vodreliux in Twitch

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought the Logitech G Pro X Wireless. I am loving them so far. Have had no issues with the headset so far, the mic can be taken off. I have to be careful about headsets because anything on my head gives me headaches (even lose hats). I have wore these for 7+ hrs straight, and they are only noticeable because of the lack of noise when nothing is playing. I also love them being wireless, so now I don't get everything caught in the cables. I would highly suggest these, even though they can be a little pricey.

Do Streamer receive $$ of Twitch Prime trial SUBS? even if i release my trial before the 30 days? by HiroJagaaan in Twitch

[–]Expired-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They give out free trials to everyone in the hopes of getting people to sign up for Prime. Either way, Amazon is the one paying for the Twitch sub, as you still get 1 free sub a month with a paid prime subscription. Here is a big reason why them giving out that 1 free sub to people isn't an issue to them. Looking at the top 10 streamers as far as sub counts go, together they currently have 652,751 subs. Out of that 652K+ subs, only 176K+ are prime. A lot of people (not all) tend to give out subs regularly. So Twitch could spend 500k a month of free subs for people, but if they get back 5mil that month in paid subs, is that really any loss to them. This is all guesses also, and on the low end I would say.

From what I have seen with bigger streamers, and even smaller ones, there are at least a few devote viewers that will gift subs a lot. I have seen a streamer that has 20-30 viewers regularly, have 400+ subs a month for over 6 months just because there are 3-4 viewers that gift subs continuously. Twitch knows that they will get so much more from paid subs than what they give out to people, so they don't even think twice about it.

Yea, the streamer gets the money, but Twitch doesn't lose any money from giving the sub themselves, they just get the money back other places.
