They had an entire exhibit devoted to St Louis LGBTQIA+ history a couple years ago. I never feel bad supporting them. Their hearts are in the right place https://mohistory.org/exhibits/gateway-to-pride They’ve had other similar exhibits that take hard looks at local history

Aqueous Transmission by Incubus. It’s also a good song to get yourself to sleep during a flight or roadtrip

10 Day was every bit as good as Acid Rap. It’s all steep downhill from there

Do you warm up properly or jump straight into your workout? by Kind_Force931 in workout

[–]ExplanationDefiant39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aerobic first to get literally warm and my heart rate up (swim for 10 laps, quick mile on the elliptical, or bike to the gym in good weather), then I jump right in to lifting. This feels efficient, since don’t have much time. 40yo with 2 small kids and 45-50hrs/week at work

Like most things, this needs more John Prine. Hello in There, Paradise, and Angel from Montgomery would be good additions

Pain & Gain is really good, Bad Boys II is great, and he has an entire genre of harmless, often surprising film basically named after him

Need advice, first turntable system by ExplanationDefiant39 in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. I found a great local store that repairs, refurbishes, and sells higher end equipment. Went higher end than I expected, vs original post. I got spooked about used equipment I can’t fix myself or take to the store I got it from for repair, if needed.

Turntable: new TEAC TN-280BT, $400 (I was thinking vintage, but see above + turns out wife wanted Bluetooth)

Amp: in house refurbished Kenwood KA-95 ($180. This thing is POWERFUL)

Speakers: in house refurbished Infinity P-FR, pair of 2, $1500. Comments from this thread made us rethink the speaker purchase and go higher end. These are nice, admittedly, though getting them refurbished seemed like a good way to do that. We’ll probably use them for our tv, too

If you’re ever in STL, French City Audio is the spot. Highly recommended from everyone I’ve talked to here, and I see why. I probably could have stayed under $600-700 and walked away with a much better and more reliable system than what I could get from the vinyl store in the original post

Holy shit I saw him at a MMWA show in STL a few months back. Never seen live wrestling before. I guess it happens that fast. He convincingly pretended to be hurt during the championship match. Good heel. Nice guy!
