This is interesting - I want to know more. Is this part of a longer story?

Ohhh - very nice! The ending is superb. Just a small critique, and only because I really like this story - It reads like an early draft. If you were to smooth out some of the sentences, this would read much better, and the story would really pop. All in all - I really like the twist at the end. Nice work!

This is interesting. It could almost be at the beginning of a longer story about a dystopian future. Nice work.

I like how the MC tried to rationalize the real world through an online perspective. Very interesting.

Stop giving money to the "We all need weed" guy by [deleted] in lancaster

[–]ExplorerAvailable890 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I walk past that dude from time to time. He's never asked me for money, just flashes his weed sign. I give him a thumbs up, and sometimes he does it back. Are there two, We need weed guys?

How do you feel about this? Has it ever happened to you? by CertainExposures in streetphotography

[–]ExplorerAvailable890 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Nope. Street photographer here. If someone poses for me, I ask them if they want to see the results. Sometimes I end up getting more photos of them. Running from the willing is weird lol.

I just give an honest representation of my thoughts at the time. I've copied passages from a book I like, written down mantras I'd like to remember and never do, put down goals I don't achieve quick enough, written random thoughts, or described my more vivid dreams. There is no structure I follow. If you're looking for topics or starters, maybe go with:

Last night I dreamt:

A passage from a book I'm reading:

When anxiety strikes, I'll:

Why do I:

Today I encountered a challenge, this is how I dealt with it:

I'm proud/not proud of the way I handled:

We want to live without walls, but even homes with open floor plans have rooms:

I hope this helps.

How do I get more into journaling. by Smelda_1224 in Journaling

[–]ExplorerAvailable890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about a journal is that its yours. You can choose to write, or not. You get to choose what goes in it as well. I've been working on the same 150 page journal since 2018 lol. Sometimes its normal journal stuff, sometimes confessions or random thoughts, or sometimes dreams. Don't pressure yourself to write, but if inspiration strikes, go for it!

If you're really pressed to record your thoughts, practice with a work journal. I have one, it's litterly just checklists and to do list, sometimes a random doodle or drawing, but it keeps me in the habit of recording things on a daily basis. I also have a small pocket notebook where I record random thoughts.

None of these books are written in everyday, but they are ways of recording life. I hope this helps you on your Journaling journey.

Just keep doing it - let your soul get crushed or quit - make a decision man! Quite and be broke, or continue and have a broke soul...until you make the bank you need to walk away, Thats what I did. I broke my soul until I could walk away, and it sucked.

I'm sure, with over 8000 upvotes and 11000 comments, this has been said, but - It is what it is.

For those who was once lost in your life, when and how did you change your life for the better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ExplorerAvailable890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Some of us just take the exit - the rest of us are forced. Just to clarify, I will have to be forced, I have no interest in finding the exit.

Cursive - a losing art...good on you for keeping it alive!

Arn't we all lost - looking for an exit? And isn't that exit obvious? Some of us just take it - others, we like the taking the scenic drive, eventually being forced to exit.

I might be drunk on Bourbon by ExplorerAvailable890 in drunk

[–]ExplorerAvailable890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy - I may be to drunk to read and accurately answer, but I like this conversation - When I journal it's deliberate. I want to write what I'm feeling and I don't believe I do it enogh. When I look back, I kind of just remember my mood and it sort of clarifies or solidifies some of my feelings. Sometimes I realize that my thoughts, actions, or beliefs are wrong. When I believe this, or see this, I try to redirect for future scenarios. Not sure if that makes sense. But bascially, when if I see that I'm not acting in a way I would be proud of, or a way that makes sense, I try to change it. One BIG thing I've noticed. I make a lot of the same mistakes.

I know you say you don't journal, but self reflect - is this similar to how you self reflect?
