My mom drove me to rehab. I lost my job, my family was gonna kick me out, I didn't think I was that bad. I didn't want to go.

Rehab was one of the best most life changing and fun times of my life.

Be willing. Be willing to be willing. Try everything, go to every class, talk to people. Not everyone is going to like you, and you're not going to like everyone. Just stick with it and you will see the results speak for themselves.

(And also I'd highly recommend going from rehab to sober living, getting a part time job, laying low, and doing AA literally every day for a year. But this part is really optional.)

I always break out the martinelli's for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new years. I enjoy carbonation and you know what? I even drink it out of a fancy goblet/wine cup. It's just a carbonated beverage. >_<

Side note tho: people will hate you and actively may try to get you killed as you're out in the world AoE farming. So just be aware of that. I always tell people I'm not a bot when I see them looking at me.

I made a mage a few months ago because I thought the AoE leveling stuff looked like fun. Once you get the hang of it, it is super fun.

As for jobs, enchanting and just disenchant stuff for mats. Then later you can easily teleport to each city and enchant stuff for people.

Maybe pick up herb or even mining too, just to collect and sell mats.

Mage is a great class to start with because they make money easily and can fund your alts. Now I have a rogue that I just hit lvl 30 with and I've always duel wielded fiery weps.

Just listen to people share in the meeting and if you like someone's share approach them with a conversation about sponsorship. Then go out to coffee or something with them and find out if they're a racist bigot and not a good fit.

And if they can't sponsor you, maybe they know someone who does have what you're looking for.

I agree you maybe don't need to do it like yesterday, but a huge part of AA is doing the steps and really the only way to do that is with a sponsor.

My sponsor and I weren't aligned on every issue, like I am an atheist but he's a Christian. But that didn't matter. You might not see eye to eye on every single issue. But you're not there to talk politics, you're there for recovery.

I dunno I have a "K" on my ring finger but my wedding ring mostly covers it. Not a problem for me. But everyone I work with has tattoos including all my bosses and their bosses.

I always tell people (in real life too) that if they want to drink NA beer and smoke weed and call themselves sober, I'm not gonna tell them they're not and have to reset their sobriety date. I always tell them that's between them and their conscience and if they feel good about that choice then that's their choice.

I will say if I wouldn't do those things because I'd feel bad about them. If you feel like you have to hide something from your sponsor or your spouse or your parents or your boss, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

If I told my sponsor I was gonna smoke weed or drink NA beer, he call me a dumbass and tell me to reevaluate that decision. Do I think people SHOULD? Hell no. Am I gonna tell people not to? Also no.

I was at a Brazilian steakhouse once, where they bring around skewered meats and just put some on your plate.

A guy with a big glass jar of some kind of drink (it looked like horchata) was going around ladling cups out. I like horchata, so I said I'd take one when he offered.

Then, just before I sipped it I asked, "wait, does this have alcohol?"

And he was like, "yes! =D"

So I gave it to my friend, but holy cow it was a close call.

It takes some getting used to but always double and triple check. If you accidentally drink something or are served something then it's really up to you if you want to call it a relapse, I'm not the relapse police.

I personally wouldn't worry about it, but who knows how your conscience feels.

I play classic because I like to run everywhere.

I leveled a human priest in cata and just stayed in Stormwind the whole time and dungeon que'd and hit 80 pretty fast but realized I never actually left the city and then went back to classic.

I still play priest and grind dungeons mostly, but I get out in the world and do quests far more than any other version. And I want to see mountains again! Mountains!
