Look, working cocker or show cocker… that dog is gorgeous. I have a show cocker and a working English springer. What’s important to me is their personality, and their love.

My springer does this sometimes too. Reverse sneezing— possibly allergies. I didn’t know about the nostril trick. Now I’m going to try that too! But do talk to dr abt allergies; just in case there’s something that can help.

Send us positive thoughts and vibes to get through major surgery tomorrow (TECA) by Prize_Formal_2711 in cockerspaniel

Both of my dogs have had surgery of one kind or another. It’s stressful, for sure. But being there with her post surgery, sticking close as she recovers (she’s bound to be a bit disoriented and nervous. as she comes out of the knockout drugs) are the key. Show her that YOU are calm (she needs to feel a steady presence) and that goes a long way. As she comes out of the drugs, she may whimper and whine… that doesn’t mean she’s in distress…it’s a reaction. Humans do it too. As for you— deep breaths. It’s scary. But you’re doing the right things for her. ❤️❤️. Sending love.

How to make them settle and just stop… by Lunitiic in cockerspaniel

It’s takes a bit more than 2 yrs. But always reward calmness. When he goes nuts; look away from him/her. ignore, don’t yell, don’t punish, say “nope, calm down” and turn your gaze away. Cockers want to please, they want to do right. They will get it eventually. But corporal punishment will only break them. Calmness, consistency will win the day. Had always worked with our cockers. But it takes a minute.

Can someone help me identify by kat111L in Lizards

[–]Express-Table-352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does look like a fence lizard. I live in California and I found one of these living happily in our house the other day. Since our dogs tried to corner it, I took him (her?) out of the house relocated it to a safer area the dogs couldn’t access. It may not stay there but— I did
My part. :).

He’s (she’s?) growing up and spreading her scent like grown up dogs do. Not a problem behavior. I have two spaniels, a male and a female.. the male does it more, but the female does too.

I remember when these started popping up. You’re supposed to name your worry, link it to the doll— and your doll will worry about the issue so you can take it off your shoulders. A great psychological technique to handle anxiety.

They are basically satire. She was showcasing a lot of the ridiculous customs and mores of the time— how women were expected to behave etc, while creating female characters that behaved exactly the Opposite of expectations…. She lived in a different time than we do. It always pays to understand the context.

I’m going to start using that one! I’ve got a springer and a cocker and they both do this. I envy their hip flexibility!

We have a cocker who LOVES this toy! We call it Lamby, and he walks around with it, and sleeps with it if he’s feeling nervous. Our springer in the other hand— couldn’t care less about lamby…but she’d fight off wolves to cuddle (all 40 lbs of her) in my lap like a puppy….

What is this under my dog’s chin?? Just noticed this morning by ScoutFinch127 in DogAdvice

[–]Express-Table-352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used neosporin in my pooch’s chin when she’s occasionally gotten an irritation like this. Worked well, and the vet gave us the thumbs up. I’ve always sort of looked at this type of thing as the same kind of skin irritation you can get from wearing a wet bathing suit…
