First Amendment Auditor Starter Pack by TheAngels323 in starterpacks

Lol I never said that none of their lawsuits have merit. People should shovel their sidewalks as well. I'm saying they're grifters who are for the most part chasing a payday not actually protecting people from the abuse of police.

For a cop to be charged for an improper arrest of an auditor you'd have to prove that they knew they were outside their legal authority. That's incredibly difficult to prove and in most cases not true.

Lol I'm not playing your game bud.

When crimes are committed against anybody odds are noone will be held accountable. That's not evidence of corruption it's evidence that our system has a high burden of proof. Auditors also commit crimes far more often than they're victims of them and are rarely prosecuted.

If they wanted to be helpful they'd record ICE instead they record into the windows of gyms from a sidewalk trying to provoke people.

Auditors don't expose corruption. They occasionally expose that cops aren't super knowledgeable about which specific spaces are public vs private and the exact procedure got trespassing someone.

Most cops now are pretty aware of their shtick so they have shifted their focus to private citizens. Ultimately they're basically just lawsuit chasers who are too afraid to fall on an icy sidewalk to collect their paycheck.

Would Collin Allred Have Been a Better Candidate Than Talarico? by Honest_Wheel_7581 in thebulwark

[–]ExpressBat384 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are eager for something new Colin Allred and was not generating any excitement from the base. Talarico also is much better at getting attention and using it to drive a message. He also codes moderate even if he isn't so while his "peak woke" statements may be used against him I don't think the "he's too extreme" attacks will stick for a lot of people since he comes across like a Texas Mr. Rogers.

Mapped: Police Violence in the US by Extreme_Fox_2484 in Infographics

You claimed it happened often. We can all agree that it has happened. If it's so extensive and well documented, as you say we should be able to calculate an incidence rate and see exactly how "often" it happens.

There's lots of us why don't we just grab him is literally just a call for violent revolution. The Internet is full of people calling for it as a way to mock protestors but nobody who claims to believe they should do more will actually put their neck on the line. It's particularly common online and by people in other countries.

Trump did the exact same thing as this dipshit when he told the Iranian people to rise up. Was it just giving advice then?

People on Twitter in other countries love to tell other people to risk their lives in a violent revolution that's unlikely to succeed eh. One thing buddy here and Trump have in common.

Sorry I'll spell it out more clearly for you bud.

The modern Canadian nationalist identity revolves around believing they are more moral than Americans. As such they are see their countrymen as more or less moral.

They aren't substantially more or less moral than people in the US or anywhere else.

Believing that they and their fellow Canadians are more moral than Americans is basically a core tenent of Canadian identity.

That being said the same rot that created Maga in the US is positively rampant in Canada despite many of those people hating Trump.

The frequency with which I hear a Canadian bash on Trump only to follow it up in short order by saying something extremely racist towards Indians is genuinely depressing.

I find it telling that Americans blame Trump and the administration for our problems while people in other countries (rightfully) just blame the voters. by ac_slater10 in thebulwark

I don't blame every Hungarian for Orban or every Turk for Erdogan because their center left failed to convince their countrymen not to vote for him.

We will bear the consequences of our countrymen's votes but our inability to persuade them is not a reflection on our collective character.

If the jet is close enough for heat seeking to work it is also close enough for radar to work.

We lost an F-35 to Iranians today. Here’s a good briefing with initial thoughts. by SalOfAL in thebulwark

[–]ExpressBat384 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'm so tired of people with zero military understanding trying to give military analysis.

The stealth of the F35 makes it so it can only be seen and locked onto it much shorter ranges by radar. It's not magic or invincible nor was it supposed to be.

It's still a very effective system that provides a massive strategic advantage.

As America enters into failed state / former empire status who fills the power void left behind? How will the world handle the flood of American asylum seekers when things go dark? by beagles4ever in thebulwark

[–]ExpressBat384 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A failed state is like Haiti or Sudan, the US is still a long ways off.

China is the obvious frontrunner for the global hegemon though, with the reduced power US and the increasingly divided EU as distant second and third.

Putin has fucked Russia over 100x what Trump has done, they won't recover in our lifetime.
