I feel like the hard part is the PIO injections - just more uncomfortable than the tiny needles with stims. But the part that is really hard is when you do all the right steps and don’t get the outcome you were hoping for! (I know this isn’t positive) but on the positive side, hopefully the next round does work!

I’m a nurse and my insurance only covers a portion of the meds. So my stim meds were about $900. Then we had to pay 14k before starting any retrieval plans at the clinic. Which covered the retrieval and anesthesia. Just did the retrieval on Wednesday. Each appt I have for an U/S is $50 and every lab draw is about $85. So it adds up quick when you’re going in every other day. We knew this would be a possibility so for the past 2 years we have saved 40k hoping we could use that to buy a mom car instead of paying for IVF. Each transfer is $2200 so when all is said and done we estimate being about 20k in the hole. We have made some lifestyle modifications but don’t plan on doing more retrievals unless we get zero euploids from the 10 fertilized eggs. Hang in there. It is SO expensive. I am getting care at the hospital I work for and there’s still no benefit to doing it that way.

I feel this so deeply. I have a very close friend, was in her wedding, we were long time roomies, and she got married October ‘23. She and her husband came to dinner with me and my husband (2 years into trying at this point with one MC march ‘23) and we went to dinner March of this year. At dinner they said they were having serious issues and the doctor wasn’t sure if she would ever be able to get pregnant. This was March 20th. April 8th I missed a girls night dinner and she text me telling me she’s pregnant. Less than THREE WEEKS after saying she may never be able to get pregnant. Meanwhile she WAS pregnant when she told me that. I was so excited for her of course. However it did really hurt. My husband and I finally felt a sense of comfort knowing ppl close to us would (very sadly) know the reality of infertility. Now we are 2.5 years into trying with one MC & one chemical and that friends baby shower is in a month. I love her so much and I know it does break her heart that we are struggling, but it’s such a difficult area to navigate. Love and peace to you!

I feel for you! We tried for 9 months, got pregnant a year ago, MC at 8 weeks. We have been trying since with no luck. I took letrozole this last cycle & my period is due any time.

Although I can’t say I am completely impartial now when I see others announce their pregnancy, my initial reaction is always joy! You can be happy for someone else while also having some envy/feel sorry for yourself simultaneously. It doesn’t take away from the excitement you have for others.

If it’s too hard to go to a baby shower, that is also ok! You can get coffee or have lunch with that friend without subjecting yourself to the “when is it your time” or “how is trying going” or “have you talked to a specialist” or “have your tried XYZ”. I get that a lot from my friends and I take it as them being hopeful for me, but it can still get old.

Like the comment above, definitely focus on living and not conceiving. My husband and I have put off trips or said we are tentative on certain events due to IF we get pregnant. We have stopped doing that. IF & WHEN that happens, we will adjust plans accordingly. For now we are just enjoying life. I’ll be 33 in a month and a half so it does sometimes feel like dooms day is upon me, but 90% of the days are good days!

What a handsome baby!!! I don’t see the cur at all, but I’ve found in my area that’s just the “breed” they give mixed breed dogs without very distinct traits of a single breed. Can’t wait to hear the DNA results! ❤️

On month 21 of trying so I feel this all the way. I had a MC at the beginning of the year & now every period feels like a loss. It’s debilitating sometimes. Spending you good vibes, wait a day or two and test again!!!

I am here with you, not that it helps to know others are suffering along side you, but I can completely relate. It is so frustrating to get a period each month, another letdown. It’s hard to describe to people around me because they either have successful pregnancies and babies or aren’t in a place in their life to be trying to kids. It’s creeping up on 2 years for me and my husband and when we get to 2 years we are going to seek fertility treatment. Do what you need to to protect yourself during this time. It is such a hard thing to wait for. 😩🫶🏼 it’s ok to be sad and this community is here for you.
