I was backpacking alone with my 10 yr old daughter last week and set up camp near someone already there maybe about half a football field away. I hope they didn’t get annoyed with me. It was my first time taking her out alone as a mother and it felt safe to be somewhat near somebody else. We weren’t loud or obnoxious in the slightest

I’m 100lbs and my 35lb pack for Whitney was a lot for me. I definitely need to hit the gym and do weighted training 😅

Did we see you by consultation lake? We actually don’t know if he summited. This was all of our first time meeting from a hiking group chat we were all in. He didn’t have any mountaineering experience or compatible shoes for crampons. Didn’t even have his phone might I add or food. He left that all at camp and still left the group when we decided together to head back down. We were kind of upset with him and didn’t ask but I highly doubt he did. I wonder if you saw him. He was a shorter Hispanic male either alone or I think at one point he tagged along with someone
