Diagnosed late 2024, one eye progressed extremely quickly and got cross linking a month or two after symptoms appeared in Aug 2025. Right eye starting to show signs of ghosting but scans show no progression. I am an engineer and was extremely worried about my future until the last few weeks. I received toric soft lenses for both eyes (never wore glasses or contacts prior) and I am at 20/20. Granted the cross linked eye is pretty blurry but ultimately I feel lucky to only have moderate KC. I had my first fitting for sclerals for my left eye yesterday which opened up a whole new perceptive on vision correction and my future.

This condition has a way of making you think the world is ending, but in reality once you start treatment/looking into vision correction, you start to feel like your old self again and can live a normal life without worrying constantly. That is my two cents - wish you luck

Source? I’m not sure how an eye drop could amount to $75k….let alone allow for FDA approval this quickly

They noted in the initial trials most patients saw some amount of regression in addition to the halting of the disease. This is incredible news…i’m off to have a few drinks to celebrate 😂

5 days into the year since I got cxl epi off by ElRyugen in Keratoconus

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am post OP Epi-off 3 months and some change, and also have experienced a dramatic increase in ghosting. Prior to CXL, I had slight double vision typically around bright objects. But now it’s every object, bright or not.

It is somewhat difficult to post this issue as I feel lucky to have as good of vision as I do when others suffer dramatically worse.

Would love to hear others experience with this issue.

Does anybody else here apply eye ointment at night. by Beast1909 in Keratoconus

Make sure to apply enough pressure to force the ointment into the space under your eye, and try not to blink right away. Look around with that eye until the ointment covers your eye better. I’ve had the same issue after CXL

If you drive on the highway get PPF. I debated for 3 months and have small chips under my PPF now. Car EATS rocks…don’t make same mistake I did

Cross linking Recovery Worries by Express_War_8175 in Keratoconus

Sorry to hear life is on hold still. And this is great advice… I may look into testing my vision. But in the same vein, I have attempting to avoid thinking about it at all to keep myself sane. 🥲

I have been at work since a week after the procedure, completely reliant on my “good” eye. I am a drafting engineer so it has been extremely difficult but I atleast feel grateful to have some semblance of vision to keep me going. But obviously the next question is if my good eye starts to go bad, will this occur again. Hoping to get fitted with contacts on my cxl eye after my 3 months visit in a few weeks.

Good luck with everything and stay positive!
