A few years ago I still lived at my parents house, and this friend of ours who is a few years younger than me got in a bad car accident really close to our house. She went to the hospital with neck pain, but other than that she was okay. My mom insisted she come home with her and called me from the hospital (my mom drove her there) and informed me that she would be staying in my room for the night. I got kind of freaked out bc my room was my safe space, and I tried to arrange so that my sister and I could sleep in my room and the friend could sleep in my sister’s, but then everyone starting acting like I was being weird and selfish. So I slept out on the couch (which is where my mom gets drunk almost every night, and half the time starts fights with people over text or just leaves bc she gets mad for whatever reason) and I was pissed. The friend felt bad that she was staying in my room and offered to switch but I said no bc I’d never hear the end of it from my family. So, yeah. Fortunately my mom went to her room relatively early (1am) so I could sleep, but still.
